http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08gwk5j "Hardened coffee drinker Dan Saladino investigates tea's past, present and future and finds out how our preference for the leaf has changed over three centuries. He visits the location of Britain's first tea retailer, hears the adventures of legendary tea hunter John Fortune and visits the site of an auction house which oversaw 85 per cent of all global tea trade. In south west India we hear from a team of tea pluckers and get an insight into the skill and labour involved in producing tea. Do we pay enough for a cup of tea? It's a question Dan will

WO here. Okay, my name is Warren Owen, but everyone calls me "WO" (pronounced "whoa"). You can follow me on twitter at twitter.com/WOnet I live in sunny Phoenix, Arizona, across the pond, and in the middle of the desert. I work for a large chain coffee company. I have a HUGE passion for coffee, coffee knowledge, and the people involved in coffee (picking to drinking). I was the co-host of the now-defunct Coffee Convo podcast. I will be starting up my new cast soon, just take a little time to get everything in line. I am looking forward to all the fun stuff that is going to

It is with a tinge of sadness that I spotted on Twitter that Coffee Convo has closed down. The growing Coffee Community based in the US has replaced it's Ning Network with a grim holding page announcing the news. The RSS feeds from the site and to the podcasts are still open, so download and listen whilst you can. The UK's own coffee podcast and video blogs are starting to kick into gear and I am sure that Coffee Convo readers and community members would be more than welcome here.

Right guys Wanna push this a little bit on the forum. I have some advertising space for sale on Common Grind: Tales from the Drip Tray. If you head over there, you can see the space that's for sale. Please email me at [email protected] if you are interested. We are getting over 600 visitors a month, and this number is increasing. So its a great opportunity! Chris

The UK has a great coffee podcast - Common Grind and the US has half a dozen or so (ok they do have more than 250 million people within their borders), but the newest podcast that I am aware of has a degree of interaction that deserves a round of applause. Recording live (podcast 45), with a visual on Ustream and live text chat, the CoffeeConvo pairing of Ant and Wo managed to keep up with the occasional input from myself and Chris tonight. Using Twitter as our launchpad I received a message from @wonet about the Ustream recording about to take place, @getnoticed jumped in and tweete

Someone pose me a question, something to rant about, or something you'd like to hear my opinion on. My favorite one will be featured Chris

Hey guys. One of the most important part of coffee tasting, for a lot of links in the chain, is the cupping of coffee. An act that is almost ritualistic in its methodology and acclaim. How many of you have actually tried this. The reason I ask, is that when I release my podcast next week hopefully, I want to include a "cup-a-long" session, whereby I will be cupping three coffees, live, with 3 beginners, and I welcome you guys to join us. The coffee's we will be cupping are a Bolivian Machacamarca, an Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, and an El Salvafor Finca La Fany. These are all ava

Hello, soon to be, lots of people My name is Chris Weaver, and I work as Head Barista at a speciality coffee shop called Coffee Aroma in Lincoln, East Midlands. I have worked there for a year and a half, however only in a Head Barista capacity for half a year. Whilst my experience seems limited, I have worked very hard to gain a good understanding and profile within the UK coffee scene, and hope to start competing to develop my skills, and show people what I'm capable of. You can find me on facebook!! Chris
