  1. HI all, I am kitting out a training room in our office and i need some advice on a suitable pod machine. Ideally id like one with a largish tank so that i dont have to keep refilling. Once or twice is ok but not every couple of drinks. It would have to cope with up to 10 drinks one after the other during breaks and lunch times. We did previously have a drip filter machine but it makes quite a bit of mess and we dont have a grinder so coffee goes off quickly. I liked the Tchibo machine when i tried it but cant seem find one on their website. Maybe they have stopped making t
  2. Good morning coffee lovers, I am new to the forum and also a beginner for coffee making. Most likely, I've been doing thing wrong (cringe moments for experienced people, I presume!) so I'd like to ask for wisdom and advice from the forum users. I would like to ask for advice on grind set up on DeLonghi KG79 for different brewing methods My current set-up is this (and I want to learn with these before I upgrade to something more serious): Coffee 1 - Lidl Bellarom Gold 100% Arabica ground coffee Coffee 2 - Bulk-buy Fairtrade whole coffee beans Grinder - DeLonghi
  3. Coffee roaster (and hopefully soon to be a cafe too) based in Cheltenham. They seem to follow the Scandinavian trend of roasting quite light, I have a bag of their Rocko Mountain beans at the moment and they are amazing, like a cup full of blueberries! I popped in the other day and had a free double espresso of their Nicaraguan coffee, which was fantastic. They seem to be doing free espressos every Friday between 10am and 12am, if you're planning a visit you might want to check their twitter or their website. James, who runs the pod, is a very friendly guy and happy to chat about the coff
  4. Evening all, Where I work has just purchased one of these minimini lux pod machines, just wondered if anyone has any experience? Looks pretty decent (for the machine type anyway!) but no idea why they didn't at least go for a bean to cup, especially for what these seem to retail at!
  5. Hello, I need to buy a coffee machine for a (very) small office. It is important that it can serve cappuccinos. What matter is: reliability, easy of operation, quick (i.e. not requiring an employee to waste much time). Thus, an espresso machine + grinder is not an option. I have read through dozens of topics on this forum, but none of them has really addressed my questions. What options do I have and what are their pros and cons? The following are my thoughts. Do you agree? (1) All-in automated bean-to-cup machine The easiest solution, but also the most expensive and most faul
  6. Hello! Is there a coffee maker that can do coffee pods/capsules (tassimo, k-cup, nespresso, anything really) and at the same time it can do filter/drip coffee using a metallic filter? thanks!
  7. Space saving? Try building your coffee pod machine into the fridge door
  8. Hi All, I love single origin coffee from independent roasters. My office desk is full of various coffee paraphernalia v60, areopress, scales etc. (the list goes on) I've read the James Hoffmann blog on Nespresso Nescafe and cant wait for a Part II - if it ever happens, and I think I have already lowered my expectations for what to expect from the standard "Dolce Gusto" pods from the supermarkets. However the boss man has just brought a Nescafe Dolce Gusto pod machine for the office. I would like to buy some refillable pods from Amazon and try to fill with some HasBea
  9. Hi, We have some accommodation units in South Devon and want to buy a pod based coffee machine for our top of the range accommodation. We need 30 for now, maybe more in future years. We will be including some free pods and want to sell additional pods in our shop. So the availability of the pods for re-sale and the cost per pod are probably more important than the initial machine cost, as well as the taste and ease of use for customers! I have looked into the Senseo machines and individually wrapped pods (which is ideal for us) from thecoffeepod.co.uk which work out at about 12p each
  10. Hi friends, I hope everyone is doing well. This is a great forum! Thank you for hosting and contributing to it. I just moved to Oxford, UK from USA. I am a Graduate student at University out here, and will need to stay awake for many long hours, studying! I am thinking of buying a Capsule/POD coffee machine, e.g. Nespresso, Tassimo, Krups. I am not good in the kitchen, and looking for a simple solution to make some great tasting coffee, and maybe even tea/hot chocolate at times. If the capsule/pod machines are not recommended, then what is another good alternative?
  11. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a preferred make/brand of a self service commercial coffee/tea machine for a work place. We currently have 3 machines that use rectangular shaped pods with different varieties of coffee and a couple of teas. The machines produce OK coffee and are quite popular, but as they are up for replacement in the next 6 months, I'm interested in looking at a more environmentally friendly alternative (less plastic waste). I was thinking about a bean to cup machine. There are about 120 of us in the office and the machines get quite a lot of use – can anyone
