Hi - first post, so forgive me. I literally just bought a Delonghi EC933 machine and whist is does a decent job for me I'm plainly getting something wrong. The coffee seems over extracted, bitter and burned ... also (connected in some way, I presume) the pressure during extraction is well below the 'optimal range' on the dial. I've checked myself in the following ways ... grind setting - i started fine at 1 and have worked my way back out to 4 coffee volume in the basket - i was putting too much in, probably - now it sits at the 'optimum' line in the basket tamp - the machine is supposed to control this for me - not much i can change - i do tamp it twice as the person in the shop said i should !! I can't work out why the resulting coffee's should seem over extracted and the pressure so low. I am very confused an feeling like i know less than nothing right now. Any help would be appreciated.
