  1. Hey! Don't shoot the newb here - just looking for some advice as to where to purchase a Simonelli Oscar II? (any tips as who to avoid, or who has good service/or discount!). I'm in Central Scotland if that helps! Side note - any grinder tips more than welcome - I haven't entirely settled on which one I want yet..
  2. Afternoon all. The last couple of days I've noticed that the steam flow from my machine is very jittery. Seems to blow a mix of good old dry steam then a blast of saturated steam, bit of water, steam, saturated steam etc etc. Only started a couple of days back. I haven't changed any parts since the pump a few months ago. Machine is otherwise working fine, although the flow through the group has been slower/less volume than the old pump was managing when it was in place before failure. Any thoughts on the steam issue? Pressurestat seems to be working fine, no discernable lea
  3. Hello all, I'm currently going through the process of choosing my next grinder. One of my top selection criteria is On Demand grinding and very low retention as I hate purging and throwing away good coffee. The new Mahlkonig Peak looks very interesting but is not currently readily available, has maybe not 'matured' it's design yet and is a bit on the expensive side. Top of my short list is currently the Nuova Simonelli Mythos One Clima Pro - £1629 from coffeeitalia. I would be grateful for any advice on this choice - it's a lot of money to part with so I want to get it r
  4. I'm asking £140 for this delivered via courier. I bought this via the forum from Shrink (thanks again!) as an upgrade to a Mignon. it very much illustrated to me the difference that a grinder can make as part of the process. Quality of shots has been excellent, and has helped my shots to be far more consistent. Only going as I have something else in it's place now. Specs as follows: http://www.seattlecoffeegear.com/nuova-simonelli-mdx Manufacturer Nuova Simonelli Width 8.0 inches Depth 14.0 inches Height 23.0 inches Weight (lbs.) 30.0000 Watts 290W
  5. Nuova Simonelli Oscar Silver, heat exchanger espresso machine. The machine works perfectly, it is sold together with: portafilter, 2 cup filter, 1 cup filter, tamper. The machine is located in: Conselve, ITALY Price: £240 delivered to the UK
  6. So I want to get a grinder, but it is hard to choose! I have a £1500 budget. I was looking at the [h=1]Nuova Simonelli Mythos One Plus[/h] Because it seems very high end, has vertical burrs so low retention, and I liked the idea of the tamper built in. But then I realised the dynametric tampers can be bought seperatly. Other models I have looked at are Compak E8, E10 (but I don't like the idea of a fan). Also along the research I did it seems you can't have one grinder for both brew and espresso, just espresso? So I would need to spend less on espresso grinder and buy anot
  7. I have seen one of these for £120, is that a good price? I am looking at one of these as my first 'proper' Grinder, can someone tell me if that is a good price and also the difference between the MDX and MDX-A? Thanks!
  8. Hey guys, I have been laying an eye on the nuova simonelli oscar as an upgrade from my gaggia classic, which I think I might have outgrown it needed that simultaneous frothing milk and extracting espresso..... but!!!! The Oscar 2 was announced and will be launching soon in January 2016, does anyone have a better insight on this machine? I can't seem to justify whether to wait for the Oscar 2 or just pull the trigger on the current Oscar, because I just can't find any details on the type of boiler system that the Oscar 2 is being hooked up with. Thanks to anyone for any inpu
  9. Hi there, guys, I felt terribly to be letting this pair of cuties go. =( But guessing that most of my friends who pay me a visit don't drink espresso, I thought maybe they could do better justice for someone who's gonna enjoy sharing espresso making. They are really a decent pair of artistic cups for espresso lovers =D. Each of them: -holds approximately 58g of espresso( double shot). -is 5 centimetres on the inner diameter. -is 7 centimetres on the outer diameter. -has a saucer of their own of approximately 12 centimetres. As shown i
  10. Hi All, after having some problems with my barista express, I decided to take the plunge and upgrade to my first heat exchanger, the Oscar 2. First impressions are good but it’s going to take me some time to get used to the new machine. One thing that I have noticed initially is the group head screw. It is a hex bolt with a groove in it for a flat head screwdriver. This means it stands quite proud of the shower screen and makes an indentation in the coffee puck. Has anyone else with an Oscar 2 noticed this and is there a flush replacement for it? I don’t think the bolt head putting a
