  1. My beautiful Fracino Heavenly with bottomless portafilter. This carries an 18g VST basket. I use a Graef on-demand grinder, but keep minimal coffee in the hopper. The white jar is from Starbucks but most of my coffee is kept in a Kilner jar. I get 1kg per month from Limini Coffee. The tamp is from Motta and that's on a Cafelet mat. The knock box is from Happy Donkey.
  2. Evening all, has anyone had any dealings with Limini Coffee? would appreciate opinions! Ta muchly xx
  3. I received this today from my friend Youri at Limini in Bradford and wondered if anyone on the forum would be interested. Hi, We have some exciting news for you that we would like to share. Limini Coffee has now been trading for just over 4 years and it has been a wonderful journey. We absolutely love what we do and this is thanks to our wonderful customers and the people we work with, so thank you! Now we would like to take things to the next step and work even closer with our customers. We believe in the power of word of mouth and this is how we have grown so far. We are now offering a distributor service which is very unique. If you love our coffee and you love working with people (we're sure you do) and you would be interested in helping people with their coffee business then this might be of interest to you. You can now become a distributor for Limini Coffee... We will do most of the work for you and look after your customer in terms of deliveries and customer service. There is no set up cost, no stock, no paperwork, no delivery issues and no worries. You just help your customer with barista skills, the coffee quality and any challenges that might appear. In return you will receive a great commission on their monthly orders. Of course we will provide you with a comprehensive training program and can even help you with setting up a website. We believe this could be a fantastic opportunity for you to promote coffee the right way. If you are interested then please let us know. We would be happy to have a meeting with you (over a delicious cup of coffee of course!). Best wishes, Youri and Samantha
  4. Hi all Just a quick note to mention that Absolute Coffee has been renamed to Limini Coffee. We are still the same people with the same coffee, just a new name. Cheers, Youri
  5. Hi Thought I would give you a update on the free beans ( Donated by Beanosaurus ) On opening the packet the beans had a lovely aroma ( they are packed in a Foil type re sealable package ) I could see the 3 different beans ( different colours ) Ethiopia , India , Indonesia Described as Body 5 Sweetness 3 Acidity 3 The beans looked smaller than the Rave beans I had used previously The beans had more of a shine as apposed to the Rave beans that had a mat surface When grinding the beans my grinder was quieter with these beans The beans ground to a more oily consistency , I ground them quite fine I don't measure just fill my porafilter so it looks about right ( Quantity wise ) Into ECM Barista and the flow starts looking quit dark with lots of creamer ? if thats how you spell it ? Taste was full bodied and rich with a lingering flavour I am on my second cup today and its only 08.10 I am enjoying these beans and may order again A big thank you Many thanks go to Beanosaurus
  6. Cheeky little 9oz bucket of a 2 shot doppio-based latte carrying a layered tulip! [video=youtube_share;4uno0YLNOKU]
  7. Hi guys, doe's anyone know of a good barista training course that's in the midlands? I live in Lincoln and don't really want to travel to London for a good course. Thanks in advance
  8. Hi everyone, I'd like to extend an invitation to come on down to a series of coffee events to be held at the Limini Coffee training centre in Doncaster. We're really keen to try and foster a barista community feel in the north of the country – many of us know each other and are able to meet for the odd coffee every so often, but there are also people who are new to the industry, or just discovering speciality coffee and would like to get involved in a wider group – learning, experimenting and having loads of fun doing it! Therefore 'Limini Events' has been created to provide a time and a place for people to meet and really grow the coffee community in the north. Held at our training centre we have plenty of kit and lots of room to accommodate a good crowd – although we're limiting it to fifteen so everyone can get really involved. We've decided to have a theme for each evening – but discussion, debate and experiments are always totally open! These events will be relaxed and informal and would be great way to introduce staff or friends into this weird and wonderful world of speciality coffee! The first event on January 25th is themed as 'Art Attack' and will include introductory milk training for those new to coffee, and a chance to work on more advanced techniques for others, finishing with a 'throw-down' with a prize for best rookie pour (less than 6 months making coffee - ish) and best overall pour. Tickets are £10 – great for enthusiastic staff or those wanting to get better milk on their home set-up. Second event on February 22nd is a cupping evening – the idea being to cup our way round the world, identifying the effects of region to some extent, but also processing, variatals and how the cupped coffees translate into brewed coffee. Again £10 covers everything – terrific value for some of the coffees we're going to be tasting! More events planned for later in the year – we have plenty of things we think will be good, but suggestions are always welcome if you have a great idea. Go to http://www.liminicoffee.co.uk/events for more information, and book your ticket online.
  9. Hi We are setting up a New Coffee Shop, its quite small so I expect to sell anywhere between 40 and 100 coffees per day and would expect no more than say 20 in any 1 hour period. I am thinking of a 2 group machine but have no idea of what boiler capacity to go for? I was thinking of spending around £4000 and hope to have it installed for this. Any suggestions out there. Oh and I also need a couple of grinders, regular and decaf! Cheers G
