1. For sale is my Feld2 Honed grinder which i have had for around a year, but in that time I have used it probably a total of 5 times. I bought it as a second travel grinder to go with my aeropress but quickly found that I dont travel that often, my aeropress stays at work and I tend to use my niche at home and so it doesnt get the use. I also did a house renovation in that time so it was boxed and stored. Anyhow, I got it out the other day and its a lovely tall, slender black grinder which is great as is the case with MBK stuff, but I think its time to move it on. These are £150 from knock, so offering this for £125 delivered. Its just like new and will be well packaged for postage. Its quite heavy (relatively in postage terms) so I reckon that could be as much as £10 so £125 posted seems a good deal for someone.
2. If anyone wants one of these, his site has just gone live. Visit the store, click on the image then you pay a £30 deposit to secure. Good luck!
3. Hi All.Newbie here, so please be easy on me. After drinking mainly instant then Netspresso for many years, Ive decided to go for an espresso setup. I mainly drink tall (not too) milky coffee but used heated miIk rather than frothed. (I'm a bit non plussed about the foam)., and then topped up with hot water. I was introduced to the Aeropress by a work colleague in the office (Trying to get a private electrical appliance PAT tested in a big office is impossible), so got one myself. To partner this after much research brought a Knock Feldgrind. (I've since added the aero grind). I now use this set up fro camping, caravanning and when I'm staying in hotels. At home I use the netspresso machine and L'or capsules, normally two capsules for each cup I have.
4. Feld2 with bigger burrs! - "The first 50 of these will be released in late August, a straightforward big burrset build of our Feld 2. With 47mm blacksteel burrs, our unique dial lid with infinite "no stops" adjustment means that you can dial right in on your favoured flavour profile. The bigger burrs grind approximately 40% faster than our standard 38mm sets and the Feld:honed's design makes for effortless grinding, all with the consistency the Feldgrind is famous for. 20 of these grinders are available now for pre-order before 12:00 July 2nd at a 33% discount. 5. Bought new, and totally not bonded with, used 5 times tops. I’m just not into hand grinders I think. Still in the box. photos on demand if you don’t know what one looks like. £125 shipped.
6. Just starting out on my coffee journey by recently purchasing a Gaggia Classic which I've done a couple of the recommended mods to. I've made the rookie mistake of not having any money for a grinder but I now have a very modest budget (just above £100) to get my hands on one. I am pondering on either an MC2 or a Hausgrind from knock (recognising some patience maybe required!) Generally I make 1 double shot early in the morning however every couple of weeks we'll have a group of friends round and I find myself producing for 10! Have 3 young kids and don't really fancy the wrath of waking them first thing so I'm leaning towards the hand grinder. What advice is there out there for a newbie! thanks
7. After a good few years of drinking Instant / Netspresso coffee, I've decided to go the proper coffee route. I have a Knock Feldgrind sitting in the garage, is this good enough for Espresso Grind
8. Hi All, Long-time lurker, first time poster. I have had my Knock Hausgrind for about 3 years and love it. I recently purchased an Aergrind and have been using it for about a month at work. I have found that it takes between 3-4 times as long to grind (same beans, brew method, etc,: 50 rotations for Hausgrind; between 170-200 for Aergrind) and the grind is not as consistent. Has anyone else noticed this? Or is my Aergrind defective? Thanks! Rob
9. For instance, after 10 seconds of grinding it can go from a 3 to a 7. I worry over time it will just keep getting looser too, but obviously this is an immediate problem already anyways. What can be done about this? Apologies if this post has been made before.
10. Anyone looking to upgrade and pass on their Heft 58.5mm tamper? Looking for a snug flat based tamper for my IMS baskets having only used convex ones up until now. Thanks, Christos
11. Gaggia baby seems to be picky and very sensitive to evenness of the puck. I have been pouring grounds on the same spot until the basket is full and there are no problems on other machines. However, it causes channelling and deadspots on my gaggia baby. So, if you're using Gaggia baby ,perhaps other models too, and get persistent channelling and uneven extraction, it's time to examine your distribution method. The effect of poor tamping is not fatal if the error is not so bad.
12. As suggested in the hausgrind owners experience, a place to document current owners, batches and wood etc. Copy and stick your name on the list K029 batch 2, walnut. Neill
13. So I think I must have some kind of record for upgraditis... This expobar Brewtus has been an absolute beast and I love it. I bought it only a month ago from Lord Fluff but some kind of insanity has taken hold of me and I just bought an Olympia Cremina so unfortunately this beauty needs a new great home. It is a fantastic machine and has only been run on brita/ ash beck water and has been regularly back flushed. It's great if you're looking for a good value double boiler PID machine. I won't go into detail about how good it steams or how rock solid the temp stability is as I'm sure anyone looking here is aware of this already and there are lots of posts on this. This was given the once over by bella barista where Lord fluff bought it just before he sold it and they gave it a full bill of health. It also has an upgraded IMS shower screen. Asking what I paid to Lord Fluff: £800 Only a week after buying this Super Jolly from Lord Fluff I found a deal for a mazzer royal so it was very swiftly superseded! It is an absolute pristine model, not sure what year but maybe @Lord Fluff can shed some light on that. It has none of the usual knocks and chips you get on most ex commercial Mazzers. Lord fluff upgraded the burrs to titanium ones 3 months before he sold it to me he tells me so it goes without saying they are razor sharp for a lifetime. The brand new mini hopper comes with it also (not the lens hood I still need). I'm using the grounds tray for my royal but if anyone's particularly interested in that I could add that for a little extra. Given its an excellent example and titanium burrs I'm asking £250 Lastly up for grabs is the knock drawer (also from Lord Fluff, god he's a good salesman!). It's rock solid and supports the grinder well. Looking for £45 for this. Obviously happy to split the items and willing only to post the knock box because I don't want the others broken in transit. Happy to have people over to give them a whirl (and show off the Cremina!).
14. For sale is my MBK heft 585 tamper with walnut handle. Barely used and in as new condition. These are notoriously hard to get hold of and took 4 months to come for me! Looking for £30 plus postage.
15. With batch 2 due to drop this week . I thought it would be a good time to start a thread so we can collate how we get on with them. When you get them post up your pics and what your doing with them.........
16. Hi all, i purchased a FELD47 beginning of March 2020 and it has a pretty bad wobble issue as you can see in the video. that causes the burrs to slightly rub/touch one another and I guess it makes the grind uneven also the 0 position is not on 0 but closer to 1 not 100% whether it arrived like that or not to be honest it never fell or anything and I use it no more than once a day. has anyone experienced something similar? do you think this can be fixed or it is a manufacturing issue? i haven’t tried to take it apart of fear of not being able to piece it back together... i am gutted I put £168 into this i hesitated with a commandante and decided to go with a this because it was all metal and would last supposedly a lifetime... Now regretting my choice... Any help/advice/thoughts welcome cheers
