Hi there, After 8 years of happily making what I thought was 'ok' coffee on a kenwood ES630, it finally died on me. Having looked around and had a disasterous flirtation with an Ascaso Arc, I've stumped up and got hold of a Silvia, I now realise that there's a lot more to this coffee malarky than first appeared and I've read a lot about how to try and get the best from the machine. I'm about to take the plunge and get hold of a grinder so that I can start this journey. From what I've seen on these forums, it looks like the consensus is that he Iberital MC2 is pretty much the b

Hi all, Yet another question from a new member. I'm looking for advice on a replacement filter basket for a Espressione / Kenwood ES547 Cafe Retro. The original part retails on a couple of sites at around £27.00. They can't be serious! I've noticed various baskets on other websites for £3 or £4. I have had a look around and found spares available but need to know which parts to replace. I see that it h

Hello from London: I get wonderful tasting cappuccino from my local cafe. When I try to make the same with my home espresso machine (Kenwood Cafe Retro) using exactly the same coffee beans as the cafe (they gave me some), it does not taste nearly as good. Why, and what can I do? Thanks for any useful advice.
