Hi All - I have a 10 year old Gaggia Classic and did the OPV mod a while ago. I am getting decent shots however I want to figure out what bars I am really putting out. I tried the volume of water method (blank portafilter, putting a class of water under one of the tubes) and I am getting no returned water? Does this mean my machine is still set to too many bars and I need to turn the OPV nut more. I am getting decent shots, about 32g out in 30s when my Fiorenzato grinder at a 1.8 setting. A few questions... 1.) there are two tubes in the water reservoir, which one is for the water supply and which is for the OPV overflow? 2.) Is the general rule of 170-180ml in 30s from the OPV tube mean the machine is roughly 9 bars? 3.) I tried alternating with the left and right tube in water and it didnt seem like either was drawing water.....strange since my machine does work when both are in Thanks everyone in advance!
Hello Everybody! I have recently purchased a used MAZZER LUIGI srl 'MAJOR AUT' that had light commercial use. I have got home to test it out with some stale beans I had and it turns on and the blades spin but no coffee comes down into the coffee chamber. I took off the top blade and all the coffee beans are contained in the centre of the burrs, almost like none can escape. Has anyone experienced this before and do you know how to fix this? Thanks!
Hi all, Considering calling Sage up to potentially sort this under warranty - anybody have any experience of this? Issues I'm experiencing: If it's not a warm day, then when the machine is getting up to temperature, it will cut the power 2-3 times. I switch it back on at the circuit breaker and eventually it gets to temperature and works When I press the button to bring water through the group head, it makes an horrendous sound (see video) but does not seem to affect functioning of machine. Does this once then no horrible noise in subsequent shots There is water leaking through the bottom of the machine onto the counter Occasionally (maybe 1 in 4 times) the machine will overheat the water (and the temperature display will flash on 199 F) - turn off and on and it's sometimes at 220 F. Steam coming through water tap to bring back down to temperature As I say, I can always get it to work, but all this is becoming a joke. Is there an obvious fix here?
Not sure if this is the correct place for this thread. Please move if I've messed up. Is anyone aware of any (extra) communication problems regarding Peter at Knock? Is he ill (or dead)? Jan 3rd I contacted him about a broken Hausgrind and received a response within hours offering to fix it and have it back to me within 8 days! I offered to pay for the service but he said it would be free. I was pleased and surprised as I know about his legendary communication and supply issues. I sent the grinder off, it was signed for by him. Couple of weeks went by, no grinder. I've politely emailed 3 times since asking him what's going on. No reply. I've sent a slightly snottier email requesting information tonight but I'm not holding my breath as to getting any response back. Can't find a phone number for the company anywhere. Feel like I've been scammed. I'm down a grinder and no idea what to do about it. Anyone have any ideas?
