  1. Hi. Sorry if this has been asked before, i did try a search. Does anyone know of a short hopper option for the Rocket Faust, i'm expecting delivery any day but i already know it's around 10mm too high for where i need it to fit! Thanks
  2. All in the title really. I notice a lot of you have small hoppers and wondered if there are any benefits of a smaller hopper if you have no height restrictions (see below). I dont mind having a whopper (fnar, fnar), but I need to think of some Christmas presents for myself, and thought this would be an option, if there are any bean benefits.
  3. Hi all, I have the Bezzera BB003 grinder. I really like this grinder, the only trouble is that it has a quite big hopper (220mm height) - I would like to get something smaller. There's not much info on the Bezzera BB003 grinder out there, but I guess I could use a hopper from a different grinder model/brand. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
  4. Selling the hopper (with lid) from my Mazzer Super Jolly. Same as this one http://www.coffeehit.co.uk/mazzer-super-jolly-hopper-1-2kg/p99 Good nick with choke plate and lid. £25 plus postage ONO. Also stainless knock out drawer to go under the mazzer (or any other grinder really). Measures 250x400x90mm and weighs about 3kg- nice and sturdy. Just needs a new bar like this one http://www.coffeehit.co.uk/replacement-bar-for-standard-under-grinder-knock-drawer/p128. £40 plus postage ONO Or can pick up from Warwick if you like.
  5. Any idea where I can get a smaller hopper for my macap M5 it won't fit under the cupboard and I don't really need a 500g hopper While I at it has anyone done or know of a conversion from doser to doserless Gaz
  6. This review and setup guide is intended to be a users perspective of unpacking and setting up the Iberital MC2 Doserless Grinder. All instructions are to be used as guidelines only. Unpacking your Grinder The first thing you notice when you open the box is that there is no manual. The typical contents of the box are; Grinder Hopper Lid If you're lucky the retailer may have included a bag of beans (a welcome addition and useful for the next step) Carefully removing the grinder from the polystyrene beads (without dropping them all over the floor) place this on a sta
  7. Standard sized (1.8kg) hopper from my Mazzer Royal, not sure if it fits any other Mazzer models. Good condition, some minor crazing / cracking within the plastic but not through to the surface, certainly not noticeable unless just at the right angle or detrimental to it's function. I would like £20 for this and would prefer not to post (Birmingham) but will accept offers. Thanks, Tom
  8. I got a used Mazzer SJ this year but have no need for the hopper as I single dose so I'm listing it anyone wants it. I'm happy to send it free of charge (just cover cost of postage). If anyone wanted to swap for a mini-hopper better again! Thanks Barry
  9. have managed to source a small 320g hopper which will clear my kitchen units, so i'm withdrawing this for now
  10. For Sale Black Mazzer Mini Electric in lovely condition with little use approx 5 years Old No marks as you can see by the Pics Price £275 can provide more images if required
  11. Dear all, Recently picked up a second hand sage dose control pro. It grinds as expected but after taking the hopper off to clean when I lock it back in place there is room for it to move, ie it doesn't fit flush to the collar. However it does still grind, should I just leave it be? Cheers
  12. Hi, Appologies if this has been covered, I tried having a look and the majority came up with info for Mazzers grinders etc. I have a Eureka MDMCA 65mm burr grinder which I believe is the same as a Simonelli MDX. The opening that the existing hopper fits into is 52.5mm, which size lens hood would be best, I think my options are either 49mm or 52mm. To my mind 52mm seems closest, but having never seen a lens hood in the flesh, I'm assuming the size corresponds to the plastic threads and the rubber looks as if it might be a little wider? As the hood will need to fit within the existing
  13. Dear friends I just bought a brand new EK43S for in home use. Because of lack in space I am wondering if I could withdraw BOTH the hopper and the underneath lying "adapter", that holds the hopper and instead place a funnel with max. 3.4 cm diameter. A 3.4 cm feeding diameter will assist the coffee beans to fall directly in the grinder in a similar way as using the hopper. I would appreciate any comment, suggestion or recommendation from other owners.
  14. After some hunting I managed to pick up a 2015 Mini at £166, great joy it also came with a huge knock drawer that's sitting confidently on Ebay at £26 with a day to go. Net, I've managed to score a late model grinder at maximum £140. It was at work in a small cafe the day before I picked it up so 'restoration' has been limited to a darned good clean and check. Pleased to find genuine Mazzer burrs which are still nice and sharp. The hopper looked to be the 600g one which is far too big for my kitchen so cutting it down seemed to be a good option. Much measuring proved the hopp
  15. Hi All, Just picked up my new to me Mignon from Pete. I have followed the instructions to assemble it and noted that there is a metal clip thingy that slides in and out, at the bottom of the hopper's throat. The manual says to push this all the way in but would this not stop the beans from falling into the burrs ? It has a slit going through the middle of it, is it to regulate the flow of beans into the burrs and therefore I should push it all the way in, as per the manual ? Thx
  16. Hello I have had a D'Longhi Magnifica S for about 2 years now and from the day I bought it, the bean hopper doesn't feed the beans into the hole at the bottom properly. I have to push the beans downwards and it works fine. If I don't do this, the grinder pitch gets higher and you can hear it is not grinding any beans. The coffee is then very weak or a warning display says there are no beans in the machine. I did contact D'Longhi when I bought it but they couldn't help and said I should send it away to Portsmouth - I like my coffee too much for that! Anybody experienced this? O
  17. Hello all. I've recently bought the above machine and the guy who sent it used MyHermes which has led to the hopper being smashed to smithereens. I've picked up a replacement hopper which fits but doesn't have the required magnet in the base. Can anyone help me by telling me where I would need to place a magnet to trip the cut-out? And how big the magnet needs to be? Or alternatively how to bypass it by another method? Many thanks in advance...
  18. After experimenting with different sizes of tubes for my hopper/weight combo, these are surpless to requirements: X1 50mm diameter 125mm long x2 50mm diameter 150mm long. 1 sold, 1 remaining. The tubes have a wall thickness of 2.5mm with polished ends. These fit the Eureka 65e. I hold them in place with a nitrile o-ring, though others have used different methods including tape. £10 each posted.
  19. These were bought and rarely used on my Brasilia rr550D, which I no longer own. The acrylic tube hopper is 100mm tall, with an OD of 50mm, and a well thickness of 3mm. It's lovely and sturdy. I have wrapped the bottom of the tube with insulation tape in order to get a tight fit and I have left this tape in place, as shown on the photos. Inside the tube is a mild steel round bar. It too is 100mm tall and a diameter of 40mm. Sell together. Price: SOLD

  21. Surplus to requirements now - standard size hopper for Mazzer mini or a nice size reduction for a super jolly. No lid, but otherwise very clean and sill shiny £10 posted in the Uk
  22. Thoughts please on my two potential “designs” for the acrylic tube hopper mod. I have decided on one of two routes, either: Option 1: Single 60mm external diameter acrylic tube, 5mm wall-thickness, 50mm internal diameter. Cut to 10cm length. Cost: £9.48 http://clearplastictube.co.uk/Clear-Acrylic-Tube/Clear-Acrylic-Tube-500mm-Length?product_id=298 Option 2: 60mm ED tube, 2mm wall-thickness, 56mm ID cut to 10cm, then smaller acrylic tube inside with 56mm ED, 3mm walls, 50mm ID cut to 12cm. Cost: £10.91. The two tubes will be sat inside each other, sort of like this:
  23. Recently sold my SJ and it was agreed with the buyer not to post the hopper due to the high likelihood of breakage and the fact the buyer didn't need it anyway. Couple of scratches but not cracked. Includes lid and the 'door' at the bottom to stop the beans dropping out. These are about £40 new, I'm looking for £10 to be donated to the forum, collection Kilmarnock or we could meet Glasgow area I'm sure. I really don't want to post it because it will probably break.
  24. Hi All, I just bought a 2nd hand Iberital MC2. I know it is not the ultimate grinder, but for the price seemed pretty good. Anyway, I'm wondering if I'm missing a part or something. The hopper seems extremely loose and just moved about on top of the grinder. The grinder itself seems very loose on the base (I'm guessing maybe tightening the screws on the bottom, or replacing the base with something more solid might help). See this vid of the hopper wobbling... is this expected?! https://vid.me/R7HA Thanks -Matt
  25. I missed out on the group buy but found this source: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Glass-Rod-Tube-Supplies-Cutting-TO-ANY-SIZE-/151909246537? I've just received a 150mm x 58mm with 3.5mm wall thickness tube. I also requested that the sharp edges be taken off the ends (fire polishing). The cost was: £9.15 for the tube £2.00 extra for smoothing the edges £5.50 postage so £16.65 total posted which seemed reasonable considering it was an order of one tube. The only slight issue is that there a are a few very light scratches
