  1. I need to get a knock-box before the wife notices the dents in the edge of the nice St/steel Brabantia bin, and wondered what everyone else out there is using? I've noticed the cheaper Grindenstein ones come up first in a Google search, but I don't think repeated shock loadings through the ABS sidewalls will give it much longevity. I also think I might prefer a bin type rather than a drawer type, but completely open to suggestions and recommendations. Peter
  2. I'm looking to change my set-up completely, so I'm selling a job lot of everything you need to make espresso with the exception of beans. The Gaggia Classic is four month's old and the other items are slightly newer. The Gaggia is cleaned and descaled ready to use, as is the Porlex grinder. All items are in excellent condition and have been well looked after. The Gaggia Classic was bought online from Harts of Stur in Dorset and still has 20 months left on the manufacturer's warranty. The Gaggia Classic cost £200 new and the other items in excess of £100. I'm looking for £270 OVNO. And preferably cash on collection. List of items: 1) Gaggia Classic 2) Porlex Mini ceramic burr grinder 3) Motta flat-bottomed tamper 4) Motta Europa milk jug 0.5ltr 5) Grindenstein Knock box 6) 2 x Gaggia cappucino cups and saucers 7) 2 x Saeco descaler (Saeco/Philips own Gaggia) 8) Non-pressurised double filter basket 9) All the original accessories, manual, receipt, boxes etc complete. Please see pictures below for everything that's included. Any questions or offers please reply to the thread, don't just throw wild offers into PMs – thanks, much appreciated. Kind regards, Andy.

    Knock Box

Hi I want a decent sized knock box. Either a steel drawer type, or something bigger than the grindenstein, which although is great, only holds around 6 or 7 pucks. Hopefully someone has one!
  4. If you are only making a couple of pulls per day, this little knockbox is perfect. Ive had it for about 3 months and it shows very few signs of wear. The knock bar has a few indentations on it but considering how hard I was hitting it, it is in very good condition. Brand new it was £15. I'll let it go for £10 plus postage.
  5. Any recommendations on knock boxes? I think I swaying for the moto polished one from ceamsupplies, its £19.99. I would have licked to buy a back flushing basket and some puly caff to, but they don't stock these... does anyone one know who else does at that price? I don't want to pay 2 lots of shipping
  6. My better half is hassling me for ideas for Christmas and since my current passion is coffee related I thought you might be able to help. I am happy with my coffee machine (Gaggia Coffee), grinder (Iberital MC2) and tamper. Any suggestions?
  7. Can't belive how overpriced these are to the public!!!....I had a choice of 2 today and settled for the 1/6 bare gastro with knock handle(aprox £26 through happy donkey) really wanted the draw type but it was just too deep to go on my counter top under the machine(£89 through happy donkey)......through my firm only £4 for the gastro one and £20 For the stainless steel draw one....they really know how to squeeze every penny out of the public.....not picking on the donkey....to be honest they were probably the most reasonable I found online...the s/s draw one was £120 on some sites.....I'm thinking of Buying a load and putting them on ebay at reasonable prices...like under £10 for the gastro and £30 for the draw.....the mark up is horrific!!!
  8. I've just replaced my black Grindenstein knock box with one of the shiny Motta ones (matches my Giotto), so the Grindenstein is surplus to requirements. It's less than a year old and has had light domestic use - but, hey, they aren't the sort of thing that wears out in a hurry! Must be worth £5 to someone before I put it on fleabay? First PM from an existing member secures for £5. Hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by posting this - it's done only with offering a forum member a bargain!
