  1. Hello - I'm hoping to find some burlap/hessian sacks for use in my garden. It's just the fabric I'm after, so it doesn't matter if they're too old and knackered to act as a sack. They are to cover outdoor seedlings to help them germinate (apparently). Stops the wind from drying the soil. I work in shoreditch, but perhaps the coffee shops around here only have ultra fancy ones, too nice to use on my veg patch! thanks Laura
  2. Not 100% I've posted in the right place, but I've just seen this and ordered a sample my self. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5403433&_ga=1.131489288.609269767.1453282455 MSE says 300g but the site says 150g, still not bad for 99p!
  3. This morning I browsed my email and amongst all the spam was a link to this: https://www.streetlife.com/conversation/1z9ydcpkdr2qt (hope the link is accessible) How often does that happen? I was about 24 hours too late to the party, to raise awareness here or to sneak in for myself. Goes to show, there are gift horses out there. Wondering where these machines might pop up next. Hope they don't and that the charity benefitted. And if the above link doesn't work this was the content of the OP:

  5. Kind of free anyway: 200g of Starbucks Espresso Fairtrade beans are reduced from £3.50 to £2.50 at Tesco. And you can swap the empty bag for a tall latte http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=285644732 Who's with me??? I've taken the plunge and will try to swap the latte for a flat white at my local Sb. The latte is sooo weak. Edit: I've just checked the price of a tall latte and it's £2.25. This post is even more deceitful than I had envisaged. Sorry.

  10. Do you buy newspapers for your clients to read? My wife was relaying a customers' tantrum the other day - that took place at a cafe she frequents. The cafe in question does not provide free newspapers but often has a selection of magazines left by customers, and from mid-morning onwards there are often newspapers left by customers that are recycled. The customer had a fit about the cafe not providing complimentary newspapers (but has since returned so the experience can't be all that bad!) Do your customers 'expect' newspapers?

  12. Hi free grinder posted on gumtree in Glasgow area. I can't post a link but just search on gtree Glasgow.
  13. [This has now been taken - not sure how to edit the prefix to sold] I have a Presso free to any forum member who fancies using it or having a play with it. Collection from Birmingham only. I bought it 4 or 5 years ago when i first started getting into coffee. I didn't have a grinder at the time and was just using pre-ground. I reckon it might produce decent results with a proper grinder or hand grinder. Haven't tested this with my own. Less shiny than it was as I took it apart to descale it in some citric acid. As it's free, if the person who gets it wants to make a donati
  14. I have set of Brewistas free for whoever wants them. They had the usual water ingress into the battery area, got flaky for a while, then stopped working. I stuck them in a cupboard and bought some Acaia Lunars. Anyway got the Brewistas out today and now dried, they seem to be working fine, in fairness they didn't get soaked, just a bit of water in battery area. I obviously don't want to sell them in case they fail again, but if anyone wants them for free, I'm happy to post them on. First come first served I guess?
  15. Shed clearout! Need to get rid of some stuff. I've put this up here as I have promised to never, ever use Gumtree again. 2 x 5kg York Iron plate weights to go, suit dumbell bars. 2 x 6kg Body Sculpt Plastic barbell weights too. They are a little bit dirty but fine for lifting. Will post photo when I have time. Pickup from SK23 7LY, Whaley Bridge, Peak District sometime 13th-18th July. PM for address! Cheers Kitch
  16. As the title says Free Philips Senseo Its had little use - a relative bought it some years ago and, like a lot of other items they bought, didnt use it. Apart from being dusty there is no real sign of it being used heavily. It has been in a carrier bag in my garage for the last few years and, rather than skip it, I thought Id offer it up here if anyone knows someone who may make use of it. First to lay claim to this coffee making wonder gets it. Collection only from Sheffield area
  17. I've had a little clear out and the following are yours for the cost of postage. If no one wants them they're going in the bin. Motta 52mm tamper bought for my Gaggia Factory but didn't fit the baskets. Mazzer doser mounted tamper: Was on my Royal when I bought it. Clearly had a lot of use in the past and the spring is a little loose. A sachet of grindz: I never felt tempter to use them, as its pretty easy to take the burrs out of my Mazzer. Aeropress scoop / hario scoop: Surplus to requirements.

I have this going spare: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Delonghi-EC152-Espresso-Coffee-Machine/dp/B003U2SLI8 Recently descaled, though would possibly benefit from thorough clean. Has started to drip a little, though, but you can work around it. Thought I would pass it on to whoever wants to experiment, or indeed if you have a friend or relative who you wish to introduce. The only thing I ask is that you pass it on when you are finished with it. Served me well, 3-4 brews a day every day since August last year. Have the original pressurised basket, plus a single and a double standar
  19. My old PC has been sat in a cupboard for a bit and I've finally got round to dismantling it prior to recycling. Does anyone want any of the following (probably not , but i'd rather it didn't just end up as landfill). LCD monitor: Iiyama ProLite E431S 17 inch monitor (PC pro review. Decent enough monitor when new but very dated now. Western Digital Caviar WD800 SATA 80gb drive. Still works, but usual caveat re older hard drives. ATI Radeon 9250 (C3D 6059) graphics card with 256MB DDR memory Modem/sound card - think it's unbranded with SN VP156SPA Tower PC case with MSI K8T Neo (
  20. Free PID Removed from my Classic, which wasthen serviced and sold. I can NOT guarantee that it works, the temp sensor looks worn. Might just need that. I really have no idea. All that’sincluded is in the pictures. But hey it’s free, all I wouldlike it a picture of your classic without a PID and it’s yours. I’ll even paythe postage. Post your pic on the thread. Boxed up ready to go. Collectionfrom Norwich if you want. Cheers Steve
  21. Anyone in Glasgow or surrounding fancy trying this coffee from Redber? 100g Monsooned Malabar 250g El Salvador Diamante 150g Old Brown Java 200g Caffé Italiano All roasted 25th July. I can meet somewhere around Glasgow. Just not to my taste. I won't post as not really worth the hassle.
  22. Moving home on Friday and having a clear-out as we pack today... This little thing needs a polish but might look nice in a little coffee corner of sorts! More information here. Just £2.80 postage, please.
  23. Free to a good home if collected (P&P if not 1kg of Cielo Brazilian Jeriqura whole bean. The original one I received from Cielo was a bit iffy (in my uninformed coffee opinion). So I contacted them and they kindly agreed to send me a new batch and roast it a little lighter. Since then however I've opened up my backups and just got a lovely Union selection for my birthday so I'm pretty much set at the mo. More info on it can be found here. http://www.cielouk.com/coffee/brazil-jeriquara It looks a darn sight more even than the first attempt I received so if someone want
