  1. OK - just a quick question about the V5 when milk foaming. I usually run two double shots into pre-heated double walled glass espresso cups and leave them on top of the machine whilst it heats up to steam temp. I have a milk temp gauge and smallish metal jug for the milk. When I'm steaming the ready light comes on before the milk has reached the required temp (not by a long way) and I pause till it goes out again and then complete the operation. Q. Would it harm the machine to carry to carry on steaming even though the light is on (indicating not up to temp). The milk based drinks I usually make area latte for my partner and a flat white for myself - I could do the milk in two operations but try and save time, the milk is straight from the fridge and quite cold.
  2. When I put my auto steam on cappuccino it’s lovely smooth and textured but not frothy and stiff like a traditional cappuccino I know I can use manual sta but wondered about auto . What does the steam delay option...
  3. I have owned a gaggia Classic for about 6 years. It is routinley cleaned/de scaled. Several months ago I was unable to froth milk. No bubbles either large or small. This seemed to just happen overnight. I eventually changed the wand to a Rancilio Sylvia wand. Was, and still is a lovely looking bit of kit but still no foam. Concidering I had 5 years with perfect foam, could there be any corolation between steam pressure and my inability to produce foam? This is the only reason that I can think of for foam to suddenly stop almost overnight. My friends all drinks cappa's...what a bummer!
  4. Hello folks, I was just about to purchase a Cherub at the end of this week but have had some unexpected outlay I have a Jura C5 and just can't get anything like even a half decent foam. I have the standard frother and the Pro frother but have had no success with either. I'm using them as a steam wand, not as a venturi system where it draws the milk from a container and mixes it with the steam. Am I chasing rainbows? Cheers for any help, no matter how small. Phil

Hi All, So my mother in law is an odd specimen and when she goes to Costa she always asks for extra dry and the barristas manage to get the froth from the letter A (of the word COSTA) of the medium costa glass so its quite a lot of foam.. why she wants this is beyond me because she leaves froth at the bottom Point is though, how do you make the amount of foam? Ive tried frothing for much longer at the start and even making a small jug of milk to hopefully turn it all to foam but i end up with about 30% of foam Compared to milk.. is there a way to get a really high amount of froth?
