  1. I've been using a rocket fausto for the past 2 months and it's been working like a charm. This morning it stopped grinding. It counts down and the burrs make noise but it's not sucking in any beans. Any idea what might be happening - the chute doesn't appear blocked and the hopper is open. Thanks.
  2. Gentlemen, I've just about gone mad trying to decide which grinder to get. I think I've narrowed it down to the Fausto or the Atom but am open to others I should consider and would also appreciate your opinions on which of the two would be best. It'll be paired with a Rocket Appartamento. I make only two or three doubles a day. Current grinder is a Quamar M80E which struggles with grind fine tuning and retention. Thank you.
  3. Hi everyone, I've found this forum very useful in the past so thought I'd actually post here and become active I recently upgraded my five year old Classic Gaggia (which will always hold a special place in my heart!) to this beast of a machine, the Rocket Evoluzione R. Been a bit of a learning curve getting to grips with a Hx and the cooling flush instead of Gaggia temperature surfing, but I'm getting there (and making some lovely espresso along the way!). I drink almost exclusively espresso, occasionally soya flat whites. I keep the PID on 119 which gives me a boiler pressure of ~
  4. Looking for an upgrade from a MK Vario for espresso, ideally around £600 and happy with used. I get a bit lost reading grinder reviews because there's lots of text about ease of use, retention, speed, etc, but very little about grind quality – which I understand because it's harder to quantify objectively. The best espresso I ever had was from an EK43 and the shop aimed for high extraction. I know it's not that simple in practice, but say that's my metric. Given that I can't afford an EK43, what's my best option for getting high extraction out of the common 65mm+ grinders? How do the
  5. Hi. Sorry if this has been asked before, i did try a search. Does anyone know of a short hopper option for the Rocket Faust, i'm expecting delivery any day but i already know it's around 10mm too high for where i need it to fit! Thanks
  6. Well as you know the Rockets internals are basically a Zenith 65E, that has a portafilter / chute light, and the Rocket doesn't. On taking the top off the Fausto, the lights there, just blanked off with a big metal plate. So suffering from light envy, I took mine apart, drilled some holes in the plate, covered it with a nice clear plastic disc to stop coffee grinds getting near the circuit board, and hey presto, 30 mins later, I have a light! If anyone else has a Fausto, an easy 30 minutes well spent ?
  7. So it's finally arrived. Landed with Bella Barista from Italy yesterday, fedex overnight and with me by 9:30 this morning, perfect. First impressions: Heavy, very well built, and very shiny! I also asked BB to see if the Eureka short hopper fitted, which it did, so had one of those sent over as well. Only negative so far seems to be the slightly naff grounds tray, just a shiny disc really, doesn't seem to sit anywhere; they could learn from Mazzers very simple solution. I just threw 1kg of old beans through it (thanks again BB!) and then dialled it in with some Chatsworth blend from
  8. Hi all, having used my Rocket Fausto for a week now I thought I would share my experiences. Firstly I went to Bella Barista with the intention of looking at the black version, but came back with the chrome version. To my eyes this looked better next to BB's ECM Barista which is what I have. See pic at the end. Now to the important bits: - Grind Quality. Seems very good - with very little if any clumping. Much to my amazement I can taste what I would describe as a fuller/rounder flavour in the cup ! - Grind Adjustability. Excellent which is to be expected as this is the E
  9. Hi all, just wondering if someone can advise regarding the Rocket Fausto exit chute and grind retention. A while ago my grinder suddenly needed big changes in grind/time (with the same bean) to get the required weight. While I do take the top burr off and clean it pretty regularly I took it apart and noticed the exit chute was pretty much blocked. A good clean later and all was well again. Then today I took the top off again while I was replacing the control panel and again noticed alot of grind retention and again the exit chute looked pretty blocked. Needless to say I gave it a good cl
  10. Just wondering if any fellow Rocket Fausto owners have noticed an issue with the display where after some time (approx. 4 months in my case) the double dose light significantly reduces in brightness as compared to the single dose light. I would estimate it's about half as bright. Apart from it being annoying my worry is it will pack up completely before too long. This is the second display I've had this issue with (I got sent a replacement for the original display which I fitted myself). Surely I can't be the only one ?
