  1. Hi All, I purchased this in June 2015 from Bella Barista, it is the plumbed/tanked version but I have only used the reservoir with bottled water. I used it quite a lot to start, but then I moved house at the end of last year and have never really got back into it and am drinking brewed pretty much exclusively now. Will have a year of warranty from Bella Barista assuming that it transfers. Always back flushed with water & puly caf regularly. I also have a Eureka Mignon MKI for sale, a Rocket naked portafilter with 15g & 18g VST baskets + stock basket. Also a Made by Knock 58mm tamper, knock box & mat. Plus some other bits and bobs that'll get included with the Expobar. If you're quick, I've just opend a kg of Rave's signature blend that I'll throw in! To start with, I'll offer this as the Expobar +/- whatever the buyer wants from the rest and if there is anything remaining, I'll sell the rest afterwards. Price is £1050 for everything, collected from High Wycombe HP15. This thing is a beast, so would rather not post! Will drive to meet up, but face-to-face preferred. Obviously make an offer if you only want the Expobar +/- bits. For clarity, the following a priocs for machine + other bits: Machine + Everything = £1050 Machine Alone = £850 Machine + Grinder = 1000 Machine + naked portafilter + VST baskets = £900 Cheers, Mike
  2. I'm not sure which thread but i seem to remember someone mentioning the prospect of pressure profiling on a Brewtus by adjusting the OPV during extraction. So for you more experienced Brewtus users I ask: - Has anyone tried playing with adjusting the OPV during extraction? - How low can the OPV go without risking damage? - What else should be considered if you're planning on doing it? - Should I even bother with trying?
  3. This Expobar Brewtus has a bit of forum history, bought by Lord Fluff and then sold to me by Alexferdi in August 2015, i continued on only running it with ashbeck water and has been regularly back flushed. i recently descaled which was no mean feat. It's great if you're looking for a good value double boiler PID machine then this shouldn't disappoint, i am only selling as i just bought the Londinium 1 from Sharkie and a E10 compac grinder. This was given the once-over by Bella Barista where Lord fluff bought it just before he sold it and they gave it a full bill of health(2015). It also has an upgraded IMS shower screen. i have a spare pump for it as well which has never been used, bought from Bella barista which i will include in the sale.( i always keep spares nothing wrong with the machine ) it comes with a bottomless portafilter and a backflush blank and a hose if you want to connect it to the mains water supply. The mazzer super jolly timer is also for sale that i bought with the machine at the same time, Lord fluff upgraded the burrs to titanium ones 3 months before he sold it to Alex so it goes without saying they are razor sharp for a lifetime. its an excellent example. i paid £1050 for the complete setup but as i need to get it gone ASAP as my new one is being collected tomorrow i am looking for £650 for the Expobar and £150 for the super jolly. collection is preferred from nr Spalding Lincolnshire. No offers as i think the pricing is very keen. there is no obvious damage to either the grinder or Expobar, a few scuffs here and there but nothing that would be a concern i wouldn't think its had a 100 coffees through it in the last 2 years as it spent 12 months in its box after we moved house. the Expobar still has its original box for packing. im sorry if the pictures are still on their side as i have been trying to get them to appear the correct way up for the last 30 mins!
  4. I think you are all familiar with my machine by now, I can provide pictures if needed. Heres a recent video of it in action For clarity its this model http://www.bellabarista.co.uk/espresso-machines/dual-boiler/expobar-leva-dual-boiler-coffee-machine.html Some history (Its been treated with love!) : - Its been pressure calibrated with SCACE and external manometer - Its been temperature calibrated with a Fluke & Temperature probe within 0.1 deg Celcius - Descaled with Citric Acid on a regular basis - Backflushed with Urnex on a regular basis - Water tank oxicleaned/starsan'd on a regular basis - Tesco Ashbeck or Waitrose water used exclusively- soft low TDS - Water softener cartridge replaced annually (I think I have a spare somewhere) - Original box and paperwork - Regularly polished with Microfibre / eCloths - Steam wand always purged pre and post steaming Extras:- - 1 hole tip fitted ; extra more powerful 2 hole tip included. - Cup rails added for easy removal of top water cover - Standard Expo spouted portafilter AND Naked Portfilter, accepts all VST baskets inc 22g with ease - Various double baskets (non VST) - Citric acid for a couple of descales - Urnex cleaner enough for 6 months - Spare Group Seal - Spare shower screen - Group head brush Reason for sale is simple, I need the money! Also i have been offered another machine at a good price. This Brewtus performs faultlessly and I think you'll be hard pushed to find one which has been looked after as well. Obviously being a 2011 machine - its no longer under Bella Barista's warranty! These machines rarely go wrong. Im looking for £800. No offers. Collection only, or buyer organises their own shipping arrangement... Anyone is welcome to come and have a play with it. Prior to selling it will be stripped , cleaned and polished. Thanks!
  5. For Sale, my home espresso machine that is used to trial roast profiles on pump driven espresso machines and also provide caffeine fixes at weekends! Machine is lightly used in a domestic set-up and has never seen commercial use. This machine has only ever been fed with BWT filtered water. Selling due to infrequent use and the fact that I now find myself brewing coffee at the roastery much more than I do at home. This is a plumbed only, rotary pump driven machine. The rotary pump is far superior to the vibratory pump in terms of reliability and longevity. This is a solid machine, very consistent temp wise and has a small footprint. This is a great machine and is more than capable of producing amazing coffee. Machine is in very good condition and is under 2 years old. Prices do not include delivery and collection in person preferred. This machine could also be sold with an ex-demo Compak E8 with RedSpeed burrs. £1300 +VAT for both. Machine only available for £600+VAT.
  6. I'd be interested in buying a good large conical too, like an HG One, Pharos (modded), K10, Ceado, Macap etc, but don't expect to see one pop up any time soon. Budget for the grinder I'm thinking about £300 which might sound low, for OD I'll go for about £500, maybe a more depending on condition/use.
  7. Due to a recent upgrade I have my Expobar Brewtus Dual Boiler for sale The Expobar Brewtus is a 2011 see below for pics asking price £870 Please follow forum for sale rules. All offers etc must be conducted on open forum. Only go to private message (when an offer made is accepted by the seller) to conclude payment arrangement.
  8. The clue is in the title, I have secured a great group buy for the expobar dual boiler, but it will require at least 5 forum members to fully commit to the purchase. The deal includes a complete warranty and is backed by a reliable machine supplier, as an example the cost for a tank fed brewtus will work out at £1000 plus delivery, once I have confirmed people I will divulge more about the deal, the reason for the great price is that the supplier can bilk buy direct from expobar and thus pass us on the saving. This will be available for the next couple of weeks, if we get the required numbers it is a definite goer, if not including only 4 people then unfortunately it cannot be done. Add your name here if you are a definite..
  9. Where is the best place to try one of these bad boys out ? It seems Bella Barista is thought of quite highly on the forum, do they allow for customers to play around on their machines ?
  10. Quick 25 min drive to chorley to pickup my brewtus from Charlie.jusy got back and placed it in position. Weekend can't arrive fast enough to try it out for the first time. Big thanks to Charlie and Marcus for transporting it back and to gman for delivering to the Titan event. Thanks for the flat white aswell Charlie it was lovely Paired with jeebsy's old mazzer royal

  12. Hi Guys, I'm just sorting out the new Expobar Brewtus that arrived with me today Partly excited but partly in the dark about how to get it up and running to its optimum rate. First things first.....has anyone got any start up tips? Any tip will do.... like, do I leave the water softener in the reservoir even though I'm using Ashbeck? Any others would be much appreciated Tony
  13. Purchased from Bella Barista about 10 years ago my Expobar Brewtus II now needs a new home due to me succumbing to ‘upgraditus’. This version of the Brewtus is switchable between internal water reservoir or plumbed in. This machine has been reliable and well cared for and is in very good condition. It has only ever used R.O. water and so has never required de-scaling. Early on I replaced the original fluid-o-tech OPV with the much higher quality valve which subsequently became the standard on all later Brewtus machines. I also re-routed the OPV water runoff back to the water reservoir but this can easily be routed back to the drip tray again if desired. The original factory ‘commercial counter top’ feet are supplied but the machine now sits on rather lower early Izzo Alex feet (so that it fits more easily under kitchen cupboards) obtained from B.B. when I bought it. There are a few tiny dents towards the front of the rim of the group head but all the chrome is fully intact and they are barely noticeable. Apart from that, the machine’s exterior is pretty much immaculate. I have always re-lubricated the E61 internal cam (with Dow Corning Molykote 111) immediately after a Puly Cafe back flushing sequence. It comes with its original box and packaging. All the factory paperwork and manual will be provided together with Bella Barista’s own detailed owner’s manual. There are the two supplied portafilters, baskets, blank basket. I will also supply a matching bottomless filter handle and a single hole steam tip (the machine came with a double hole originally). I am located in Pinner in North West London. Despite being relatively compact this is a very heavy machine so I would much prefer buyer collection. That would also allow for inspection and running the machine to make sure that you are entirely happy before completing the purchase. However, if collection is not possible, I might consider shipping, but that would have to be at an agreed cost for the postage and extra packaging and at the buyers risk. Assuming collection, I would accept payment by cash or bank transfer once you were satisfied having inspected the machine. For shipping I would need payment in advance.

    Expobar DB

I ventured down to Bella Barista on Thursday and collected a Minima, I also took down my Expobar and asked them to check it over prior to putting it up for sale. I was pleasantly surprised when the technician who checked it over was very complimentary on it's overall condition. That said I now want to offer for sale my Expobar Office Leva v4 (dual boiler) It's a vibe pump with an onboard reservoir, holding about 2.5 litres, manufactured Sept 2013. Bought from BB in Oct by a member who unfortunately has stomach problems and passed it on to me a few months later. The pump was replaced last year in June and the water filter was replaced on Thursday. The steam wand is upgraded to a joystick and the shower screen is upgraded to an IMS competition. Comes with : Twin portafilter,* Single and double baskets. Blanking disc. Small jar of Molycote to lubricate cams. The original fitted steam wand. A spare Expobar tap assembly. Pack with numerous E61 group head spares The original E61 shower screen. The invaluable handbook made by Dave C with everything you need to know. The machine has a few marks on* it but (I think) these are only commensurate with age. Very difficult to photograph and you are trying to snap a reflective surface. Obvious one is just below the display which I tried to get.* As I said earlier Bella Barista technician was well impressed with the machine and gave it a clean bill of health.* Following my “What's it worth” answer from Rob1 my asking price is £700, collected from Wakefield however I would be prepared to drive to a convenient meeting place or deliver within a reasonable distance. .Anything else just ask. Ian
  15. Cleaned under my Brewtus yesterday and there was a pile of dried chemical cleaner underneath it. Looks like it's been there for a while and the machine is working fine. I chem backflush every month or so and follow the guidelines precisely. Like I said, everything seems to be working perfectly. Do I need to do anything? Thanks!
  16. Hello all, sorry to drop in after years with a question I find the time difference a bit restrictive from Oz and I don't get on with coffee snobs so well so I thought I'd come back and beg forgiveness! I have Gary dykes old expobar brewtus. At the end of the shot when I put the brew leaver all the way down (into the exhaust position) it doesn't release the pressure from the group head. If I push back hard it slowly trickles out. I thought it might be a scale/cleaning issue and most searches seem to suggest that. But I took out the mushroom and it is immaculate in there. I also took out the bottom section (the drain chamber) and that looked ok too. So I *think* to me it looks like the operating Cam is warn down and isn't applying enough pressure on the drain valve. It doesn't look that warn but I can't think what else it would be. Just to add one final bit of information it actually flushes much better when the machine is cold. So something is expanding a bit when it heats up, the margins must be pretty fine. I say all this with caution, I'm a software developer not an engineer. But I'm glad to have taken the group head apart. Makes the diagrams make sense and they are remarkably simple. If I am right and it is the cam I couldn't work out if you could just remove that bit or where I would find a replacement cam. A google search revealed nothing
  17. Expobar Office Leva (Brewtus) version mark IV (latest model) Mint condition purchased from Bella Barista 01/07/2013. Therefore machine is only 1 yr old. Bella Barista supplied this and comes with a 2 year warranty so you will have another full year warranty which transfers. Use is making 2 double espressos first thing in morning per day. Only Ashbeck water has been used on this machine with daily backflushes and a recent full descale (not that it needed it due to the infrequent bottled water used) I bought a bottomless portafilter for the machine from Bella and I will include this in sale. Also have upgraded the original showerscreen to a IMS competition screen for more uniform dispersion. I will also include a 18g IMS competition basket. Machine running like a dream and selling only due to having a fantastic upgrade opportunity otherwise id be keeping it. £850 Location:Bournemouth Collection preferred but can post or drive part way if fuel covered. photos to follow..
