Hey, When do you guys start the timer for your shots? As soon as you lift the lever, or after the pre infusion is done and the gauge ramps up to 9bar? I guess it doesn't matter as long as its kept consistent but it would be nice to relate it to other machines shot times that don't have a pre infusion built in. Cheers!

Hi All I am needing to upgrade from my lever machine and will probably purchase the Expobar dual boiler. I have an MC2 grinder but I suspect the grind quality might not be suitable anymore. Is there an obvious 'go-to' grinder option which balances good grind quality without breaking the bank? Thanks JR

Hi All, I purchased this in June 2015 from Bella Barista, it is the plumbed/tanked version but I have only used the reservoir with bottled water. I used it quite a lot to start, but then I moved house at the end of last year and have never really got back into it and am drinking brewed pretty much exclusively now. Will have a year of warranty from Bella Barista assuming that it transfers. Always back flushed with water & puly caf regularly. I also have a Eureka Mignon MKI for sale, a Rocket naked portafilter with 15g & 18g VST baskets + stock basket. Also a Made by Knock 58mm tamper, knock box & mat. Plus some other bits and bobs that'll get included with the Expobar. If you're quick, I've just opend a kg of Rave's signature blend that I'll throw in! To start with, I'll offer this as the Expobar +/- whatever the buyer wants from the rest and if there is anything remaining, I'll sell the rest afterwards. Price is £1050 for everything, collected from High Wycombe HP15. This thing is a beast, so would rather not post! Will drive to meet up, but face-to-face preferred. Obviously make an offer if you only want the Expobar +/- bits. For clarity, the following a priocs for machine + other bits: Machine + Everything = £1050 Machine Alone = £850 Machine + Grinder = 1000 Machine + naked portafilter + VST baskets = £900 Cheers, Mike

Up for sale is my Expobar Leva Dual Boiler Reservoir (ie tank can not be plumbed in) bought from Bella Barista is December 2013. The machine has been used in a home environment and over the last 18months has gradually been used less and less as I have moved more towards brewed coffee and alcohol! The machine is just not going to get anything like the use it should so its time to sell up. The machine has only ever had bottled water (Ashbeck or Volvic) and has been cleaned and back flushed regularly. The machine will come with the original portafilter plus bottomless portafilter and 20g VST basket, Bella Barista guide to the machine. Plus whatever else I can find and will no longer need! The stainless steel case has a few minor mark to it but only what you would expect for a 3 year old machine. The group lever has started to get a bit stiff so would benefit from some lubrication. The machine is being offered as collection only from High Wycombe HP13 for £650 I also have my Mazzer SJ for sale in another thread and these two go great together!!

Am I right in my assumption that what everyone refers to as a Brewtus IV on these forums is the Expobar Leva Dual Boiler from Bella Barista? I love everything about this machine and its what I am saving for but... that Expobar badge in front of the drip tray is just plain fugly. Hopefully when the time comes I can spend that kind of dosh on a pressie to myself, I go for function over form or I win the lottery and can buy a KvdW Speedster.

Hi all, it's about time that I took the plunge and spent some of my hard earned cash on a decent upgrade. I have been looking at the Expobar Brewtus IV dual boiler for £1000, so this should give you an idea of what kind of machine I'm looking at. i just thought I'd see, before buying new, whether there was anyone looking at getting rid of either a Rocket, Expobar or Fracino. I appreciate there are loads of variations of each, but I'd still consider a well priced heavenly as much as a Giotto! let me know
