  1. Which would you choose between the Mythos Basic and Ceado E37s and why? I can’t easily try either of them before I purchase one, so I need some help.
  2. Bought from new in September 2015. Used for just over a year before I took the plunge on an EK43. It's been sitting unused since before Christmas as I really like it and wanted to be sure the EK was a keeper before I let it go. I'm not a heavy espresso drinker (part of the reason the EK makes more sense for me). I typically make 5 espressos a week, so it's not hard to do the maths and realise that the burrs on this are only just broken in. Comes with: Original large hopper, Mazzer mini 350g hopper and perspex tube hopper (for smaller quantities) - see photos. + Small footprint + Relatively short, fits under cupboards with mini hopper and perspex hopper + 83mm flat burrs + On demand timed dosing They are going for just shy of £1100 on both Coffee Italia and Bella Barista (out of stock currently) - I'm looking for £750. Collection from Nottingham (or nearby) would be much preferred, but can ship at cost if necessary. Anyone able to collect can of course have a go with it and make some drinks before committing. Always delivered in the cup for me. Accurate on demand timed dosing. There are plenty of owners on here and haven't heard of any breakdowns or reliability issues. Photos to follow (I've tried to capture any minor dings in the body/paintwork)
  3. I know quite a few of us on here have this grinder so thought it might be worth setting up a dedicated thread. I will start the ball rolling... anyone having issues with the SCC at all? I have the newer metal flap, but I find it hard to find the sweet spot between preventing the coffee flying out horizontally and reduced clumping - I just seem to go from one extreme to the other.
  4. Hey, i would more than gladly take the burden of your shoulder if you would sell me your grinder Like i have stated in the title I am after K30, E37S and E8, all preferably with short hopper, but i can fit the tall ones as well so i dont really mind. Thanks!
  5. so thanks to the help of a few people, especially coffeechap and dan150. iv finally got my setup iv had it running for just under a week and already really happy with the results iv been getting. the grinder was a doddle to dial in and my shots have been constantly good using the rave signature blend. I'm sure at the moment I'm just scratching the surface of good quality espresso based drinks and I'm looking forward to how far I can develop my skills.
  6. Up for sale is my Ceado E37S grinder purchased from coffeechap via CF back in March last year. It is the latest version with the metal exit chute flap. Simply selling as the Niche has now moved in and is better fit for my current coffee requirements. Great condition as per photos and mechanically perfect (minor use - on average once or twice per day). Shot count is 41287, but reflected in the lower than typical sell price. Comes with a smaller hopper (a coffeechap special creation!) which is a lot more practical for home use. Also comes with unused new pair of burrs and grinds tray. I've given it a full clean removing all old coffee grounds, so good to use straight away. Due to the size and risk of damage would really insist on collection (Christchurch, Dorset area) or happy to drop/meet in the general Dorset/Hampshire/M27/M3 area. See below for some photos and lots more here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/9ptjHBtc3ugeqinB6
  7. Just curious what grind times people are using for a double shot? Ive read quite a few comments with people saying they're in the 4.5s range for 18g but mines taking around 6.7 and is fairly inconsistent on dosing (still trying to sort out the right SCC tension) I'm using Clifton Coffee El Salvador Peaberry Espresso which I think may be part of the issue. On the SCC note can anyone point me in the right direction of where I can pick up the upgraded metal version as mine has the old rubber type. Dosing clumping timing static aside it's already a massive leap in the cup ahead of my last grinder so things are already in the up!
  8. Hello All, From reading threads on this forum I have noticed many members rave about the Mythos grinder. And on the other hand, I've read a general preference for the Ceado e37s over the eureka 75e. What is troubling me is how the 75E grind quality, given Ti burrs, is not just as good as the Mythos, and most people would believe the Mythos is better than the e37s. Is there a true grind difference between these 2 grinders, and if not, wouldn't most people go for the 75e over the e37s, or least consider the two comparable... 9. I have been chatting to Jenns our forum favourite tamper maker and he is going to be selling ceado grinders in the very near future. As both the e37s and the e92 have both been given such a glowing review on here by DaveC, I thought I would try and talk him into a forum deal for a group buy on these grinders, he has not dissapointed me. Jenns has agreed an amazing deal for us on these grinders ( to get them out there) but we have to do a minimum order of 5 grinders, this can be a mix of e37s and e92, up to a maximum of 10 grinders. They will come with the manufacturers warranty. You will not get the opportunity to purchase these at this price again! Please note this offer is only open to existing forum members that have already met the 20 post criteria when the group buy was posted, or have been a member for at least 3 months. Any subsequent "new members"with less than the 20 post required to read these threads will not be permitted to partake. The deal Ceado e37s in black 995 euro (£750) including VAT and delivery! Ceado e92 in black 1800 euro ( £1400) including VAT and delivery! This will be on a strictly first come first served basis folks and represents a saving of a third anywhere in the UK. The e37s is selling for over £1000 in the UK and the e92 for over £2000. Names on a list here, I will pm folk payment instructions and delivery times once we have completed the list.
  10. For sale my 83mm flat burr Ceado E37S on-demand grinder. Having purchased an EK about a year ago I have not had the time to carry out side-by-side testing as initially hoped, for therefore it remained unused and under its cover. It's literally a shame having it sitting unused that being the only reason for this reluctant sale... It was purchased new in from Caffe Italia by a home user in Dec 2015 and I bought as new in Dec 2016, once again for 2 espresso shots a day at home. It's in absolutely immaculate condition with new burrs fitted in June 2018. It's an absolute pleasure of a grinder to work with and I ended up using it with the perspex tubing + weighted cylinder almost achieving single dosing routine with minimal staling and excellent consistency due to the weight. Changing between grind settings is a breeze as it has stepless adjustment and the range can be further adjusted as you wish. A few grams of purging between grind change is necessary as for any grinder. Comes with the upgraded SCC flap which has been adjusted for perfect dosing into the portafilter. I would ignore the shot counter as others can also confirm as Ceado will increase the count by 1 even during 1 or 2 sec purges. I actually filmed this just for you to see (https://youtu.be/vW5fTuI55B0). Even though it is an on-demand grinder adapted to single dose, I would not recommend for anyone wanting to swap between espresso and filter grind frequently. I only ever used for espresso, where it excels and had hand grinders for filter. The burrs and carrier have been regularly cleaned which is achieved by removing only three screws. What is absolutely phenomenal about this grinder is that you can remove the top burr assembly, clean and put back together without losing your previous grind setting! No excuses there. The grinder also features the steady-lock system which ensures constant distance between burrs under any working stress condition. It's probably one of the quietest, cabinet friendly large flat burr grinders you can get, and in my opinion also looks great. There are no scratches or dents on the grinder and has never developed faults. Comes in its original box with manual and large 1.6kg hopper. I have also separately purchased the compatible small 320g hopper and lid from BellaBarista and the perspex tubing and weight from a forum member. The aeropress funnel (not included) is a perfect fit to help you load your beans! I would prefer collection or can deliver within reason from London but I am willing to ship at buyer's risk. I have made sure it is very well padded and will double box (more padding to be added). Any questions please ask. Price £670 + shipping Not open to offers bellow asking price please.
  11. Hi everyone, Here I am listing my 10 month old Ceado E37S V2 Grinder (metal exit chute = zero clumping). This is an amazing grinder, capable of producing ~18g ground for espresso in less than 5 seconds. Price reduced to £725! Amazing price for this age and condition of grinder, but I'm looking for a quick sale as I need the money. It is a commercial grade grinder with 83mm burrs, and I have made approx. 1-2 espresso's per day since owning it in a domestic setting, so the burrs and the grinder as a whole are immaculate. I am the second owner. The first owner also used it in a domestic setting, so this grinder has never seen commercial use and therefore the shot count is very modest. Happy to send more pics or videos if requested. It is fitted with a UK plug. This machine has practically unbeatable grind retention ( I am based in Leeds, so happy to demo the machine working, and happy to drive to meet halfway if preferred. I'd be hesitant to post as it's very heavy at ~12kg, but if that's the only option then the buyer would need to arrange insurance and courier, and I will package up as well as possible. Any questions, just let me know. Thanks!
  12. Hi, I have the opportunity to buy a Ceado E37S and was wondering if those who have one/have used one/have an opinion on them could chime in with their thoughts. Googling around has thrown up a few people unhappy with quality of the older E37 and also someone on here also possibly had an issue with the burrs, though I think it turned out not to be a problem? I'm interested to know - How it performs in the cup, does it distribute well or do you need to redistribute, reliability of the timed dosing, ease of use and user friendliness of the electronics. (I think I'd be using it with a glass/perspex tube hopper with a weight on top) p.s. I have already read DaveC's review, just looking for some more user experience before I go ahead. Many thanks
