  1. Help! My CLA2LPG machine is over pressurising the boiler when water source is turned on. It seems that water is constantly flowing into the tank and filling it up to mains pressure. I'm running a mobile system so a water Reservoir going into a shurflo 25psi pump with an accumulator. This is then fed into the high pressure machine pump and thus into the machine inlet. When the tank is empty and everything is then turned on, the high pressure pump engages and fills the tank until it reaches the correct level and then the pump turns off. However, the pressure in the water system seems to push water past the high pressure pump and continues to fill the boiler until its completely full of water and water is flowing through the steam tap. My first thought was check the manual fill tap. It's closed and seals properly. Then checked the fill sensor. It works and shuts off the high pressure pump as soon as it contacts the water, however water is still flowing into the system. Next thought was solenoid. Took it off and tested it, it's working fine. Not stuck open or anything. It's shut when it needs to be. Then thought maybe a problem with the inlet manifold, so I took it apart but it all seems to be in check! So, on the inlet manifold where the water pipe connects to it, the manifold splits the flow 3 ways. One goes through to the manual fill/waste, one goes up to the solenoid and one seems to bypass any kind of valve and goes directly into the back of the boiler. When this last pipe is disconnected from the inlet manifold the boiler drains. This unvalved connection is what seems to be filling the boiler up to mains pressure. Am I missing something, is this supposed to be an open connection into the boiler, what would be the purpose of the solenoid in that instance? Totally stumped at the moment, any advice would be much appreciated. Edit: It's probably worth mentioning that this machine has been sat unused for over 10 years so this is my attempt at getting it refurbished. Most of the other components/thermostats seem to be working correctly.
  2. I have a Fracino Classic Dual Fuel 2 Group Coffee Machine and as far as I can gather it does not have an internal high pressure water pump. Will be using this on a mobile van and I've been searching and searching to try and find which pump I should be using to feed the machine but cant find any hints. Is there a recommended pump for this machine or does it just have to be a 12V pump that meets a certain psi requirement? I'm not talking about the flojet, I'm aware this is needed to replicate mains pressure, however I'll likely be mounting the water tank slightly higher than the coffee machine so wont be using one. Any help would be much appreciated.
  3. Hi everyone, I've seen a 110 AH battery with 1000w is recommended for use with a dual fuel contempo machine and pump... Anyone else have any experience with this - is this sufficient? I've done some sums and don't see how this size battery can last very long at all?

I'm in the process of setting myself up with a mobile unit down on the south coast, currently the proud owner of a fracino 2group dual fuel machine and looking for some advice on setup.. Any other dual fuel bods out there? Is it necessary/better to use a battery/inverter setup to power the electrical side of things, or should i be able to run it off of my genny and skip the extra cost? The generator i have is sufficient to power everything i need (I got something right in this challenge! haha) Anyone else with a dual fuel setup have any tips or advice?   9. Good afternoon, About to pull trigger on purchase of dual fuel machine, most likely Fracino Contempo Auto (there wasn't a great deal of choice to be fair). Aware machine comes with high pressure rotary pump but was wondering what the Flojet pump was for - not trying to save pennies just understand system fully. I see it in the diagrams etc but haven't sen an actual reason for it (I'm not seeing why the rotary pump couldn't pull water from container and feed machine). I won't be using a filter as I'm in soft water Scotland. Thanks in advance for any explanation.
  10. Hi, I'm planning to start a coffee van with my partner and we're now at the point of planning the conversion. We are very much bootstrapping so being cost effective is a priority at the moment (very little disposable income to throw). As cost is a big issue during start up phase, I was wondering if it would be possible to run a traditional machine from a system of deep cycle leisure batteries as against going down the traditional (and simpler) route of an LPG machine? We would upgrade when cash and demand allowed, but is it feasible whilst starting out with low volume requirements? Thanks, Joel.
  11. Hi all. I am a newbie to the forum so please go easy. I am building a mobile coffeee van and have purchased a used (fairly old) CMA Astoria AL2 lever machine which runs on LPG and Elec. I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice on finding an engineer (ideally based in the north of England) who has the skills to service the machine. Clearly being a lever machine, AND dual fuel puts it in a rare space in terms of finding a suitable engineer and I have heard that most engineers won't touch them because they are no longer used to working on them and/or dont have correct tools to work on them. Also, how would I go on with getting a boiler pressure check done? Are there any gas safety engineers who specialise in espresso machines for the LPG side of things. Thanks in advance fo any advice that can be offered. I guess I am just really looking for someone who can inspect it before use, and replace any parts that may need replacing, certainly from a safety perspective. Best wishes coffee lovers!!!

  13. Hi, I am about to start my own mobile coffee business and recently bought a Fracino Contempo dual fuel machine second hand. Does anyone know where I can get a user manual/guide?? I've searched Google and Yahoo for a link but to no avail, though I apologise if someone else has found one by doing this. The machine's already installed but I'm a novice so could do with instructions on how to set it up and use it prior to trading. Any help would be most gratefully appreciated!   14. As above, will be looking to buy a dual fuel machine for my van in the next couple of months, but can't seem to find anyone selling any online apart from new Fracino machines, which are nice but I'd be open to something different as long as it could run on gas! Thanks Michael
  15. Hi, my first post on the forum so be gentle. I am in the process of setting up a mobile coffee van business and I have the choice of machines either Gas or electrcially powered. I have been told that the elec ones either powered by hook up or gen wil hold their pressure better and therefore give a faster turn around of customers. Is this the case? Dogas powered machines struggle to hold pressure up when very busy. Many thanks Ian
