  1. Which coffeeshops in Manchester are people who are visiting for CupNorth hoping to visit over the weekend of 01/02 November 2014?
  2. Hi guys if you are in/around/close to Manchester and you fancy coffee and or bikes you might want to go to Spin. Follow this or just type CUPFREE to get a couple of free tickets. CupNorth is doing a "pop-up" and we are going to be joined there by Casa Espresso, Ancoats Roastery and Atkinson and sons. To add to the caffeine we will have Cake from Cakesmith, Milk from Stephensons, cold pressed juices from Cowheards and Coffee Liqueur from Mr. Blacks! come say hello! R
  3. Hi guys so we at CupNorth got involved with Nordic Approach, Workshop, and Coffee Sourcing in a little project that will help a farming community directly in a little project that we called "cows for Gitesi". The coffee was sold at Cupnorth for £5 a bag (250g) and is currently being sold at £8 in the Workshop website. We have a few bags left and just wondered if anyone wants to buy some great coffee for a great cause at a great price. I would ask the same £5 per pag + postage (if someone wants to advise me the best way to send I appreciate) a bargain for a Rwandan Cup of Excellence! all money goes to the farm. more about the farm/project/coffee on the links above. The coffee was roasted for filter and those that were at cupnorth and visited the workshop stand can confirm how delicious it is! I'll need to check how many bags we have left, but if anyone wants some can you just add your name and how many bags you would like. *for the moderators - I hope this post does not infringe any of the forum rules. Just let me know if it does*
  4. I personally don't back anything on crowdfunding sites...but I do see mention from time to time about them. I thought the links below might be interesting reading. http://arstechnica.com/business/2014/10/the-ugly-afterlife-of-crowdfunding-projects-that-never-ship-and-never-end/
  5. Those of you who were lucky enough to make CupNorth this weekend, I'm sure will join me in congratulating Hannah and Ricardo (rmcgandara) for putting on an excellent coffee festival! I spent about 8 1/2 hours over 2 days at the show and only just managed to get around all of the stands - of which there were about 30. There was a great mix of Coffee Forums UK sponsors, moderators and members - and a great deal more potential members too! CupNorth was well attended on both days, with Tamper Tantrum drawing a large crowd on Sunday, which gave me a chance to visit some of the busier stands whilst they were a little quieter. The vibe was amazing - rustic, relaxed but with a load of passion being exuded from all the baristas. Lots of very reasonably priced coffee was available to try, with plenty of free samples and information being given out too. Some lucky punters managed to get 1:1 roasting training with Square Mile Coffee's Anette Moldvaer, and others (Mrboots2u included) got hands on with the Victoria Arduino Black Eagle and Mythos 1 on the Coopers stand. Many people tried their hand at brewing on the Grumpy Mule stand and plenty of people stopped to chat to Foundry Coffee Roasters who showcased their Londinium II (a 2 group version of the Londinium I owned by many members) There were plenty of EK43s on display and lots of coffee to chuck through them. Peter from Made by Knock was showcasing the Feldgrind alongside Dear Green running a GS3 / EK43 combo and handing out samples of their roasts. The entire Small Batch Espresso team made the trip from Brighton, and were joined by Origin Coffee who drove up from Cornwall. I met Bean Brothers and have some of their Espresso Stout (a collaboration with Squawk brewers) to enjoy later in the week. There are too many people to personally shout out or to thank for helping make the weekend very memorable.
