  1. I'm looking at some Compak options on ebay. Is it possible and easy to remove the dosers and convert to doserless?
  2. Got myself a Mazzer Super Jolly, planning the funnel mod and might try out a timer module from ebay to see if I can make that work as a simple solution. First step is the lens hood mod, here is the lid I have made from Birch ply. Note this is a master mini type A is also have and not the mazzer in question - just checking the lid fit... Ill try and post the progress here if anyone is interested. Here is the timer I hope I can make work with a simple button, the relay is built in so should trigger the motor and I think will go down to 0.1 seconds. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/
  3. Unfortunately the handle of my Gaggia Grinder (MDF) snapped off the other morning, fortunately this was AFTER grinding the beans so I still had my morning coffee while pondering what to do next. After taking the mechanism apart to examine and hopefully repair, I decided that I'd never liked the dosing mechanism anyway so why spend money on repairing it. Instead I decided to see if I could convert it to a rudimentary style on-demand grinder. The doser comes off very easily; 1) remove the two black rubber bungs inside the top of the hopper to reveal two screws. 2) remove the two
  4. I've just picked up a Bezzera BZ02 which is set up to run on espressopots. I want to convert it so it runs with a standard head. Does anyone know what parts I need to do this and who supplies them in the UK? Thanks, Sean.
  5. After reading about the above conversion, that of replacing the existing wand for a Rancilio one, whilst getting some bits from Happydonkey I thought I'd treat myself. The wand has duly arrived but I now find it isn't an easy swap. The old Classic I have just bought has a male connector into a long brass hexagon and the Rancilio one has a female connector and without some sort of coupler would need the plate it pokes through to be opened out considerably. Have they sent the wrong one or am I missing something?
  6. Saw this on eBay a couple of weeks back and duly purchased it: Received it this week and it's mint! May 1995 vintage. It's lovely, being the same chassis of a classic it'll be rude not to convert it to full Gaggia Classic internals just for the hell of it really. Got this machine as a donor:- Bit bruised but internally sound. This is machine unpacked etc: Started stripping it this morning, didn't take long. Decided to give it a bath to clean it up too.
  7. Does anyone know if I can convert an Ascaso Dream ESE Pod Expresso Maker to Grounds? I have attached a photo of the machine above. I have found a ground conversion kit at Fairfax Coffee. However that is not listed as for this model - and the filter on this machine looks different. With regards Jeff
  8. Hi, has anyone on here converted their Espresso machine to rotary pump? I really dislike the Ulka Vibratory pumps used in my machine and am seriously considering a conversion. My main question is regarding inlet pressure to the pump. Most people I have seen posts from on various forums (mainly in the U S) seem to have plumbed their machines into the mains water supply but I don't wish to do this as prefer to use bottled water. I really need to know if an external rotary pump can work with unpressurised water. Any advice much appreciated Richard
