  1. So over on Home-Barista there is a thread titled "Motorized HG-1 with various speeds". https://www.home-barista.com/grinders/motorized-hg-1-with-various-speed-t53547.html It's a pretty interesting kit to motorize the HG-1 requiring no modifications to the HG-1 that prevents it from being returned to a manual grinder. The motorized HG-1 would be very similar to the Stance Motor. Interesting and surprising someone has not offered something like this before since there is a fair number of various HG-1's out there that have been motorized. I'd like to see what other Forum members think of this.
  2. So another interesting single dosing, low RPM, large conical burr grinder. Apparently in pre production. Price is directly competitive with the Mon Con. It's a motorized version or add on to the Helor 102/stance. I'm not finding much info from users about the manual version. https://helor-coffee.com/buy-now/helor-stance-motor
  3. On another road trip planned for Friday, this time grinder 'Upgradeitis' has struck.. Hopefully this will be the last time I'll be changing grinders.. Some may know what it is, but not saying owt until it lands... So, is it a conical, is it a flat? Will have to wait and see...
  4. Anyone used one? Seems to be identical to the Breville BCG450XL. Wondering how it compares to something like a Baratza Encore? They're both conical but it doesn't seem to be stepped like the Encore?
  5. Hi All, I'm looking to sell my beloved Rosco Mini (purchased 14th Oct 2014). I have owned a large number of hand grinders (Lido 1 & 2, Pharos, HG-One, Hausgrind, Hario, Porlex etc.) Simply, this is the best all round hand grinder I have ever owned. The engineering quality is unmatched in hand grinders (with the possible exception of an HG-One). Grinder was purchased/shipped from Portaspresso Australia for £250 + approx £100 UK import duty Condition is excellent, 1 year old, no dings or knocks (it's been cherished). I simply have too much coffee stuff, so this is surplus to requirements. I'm looking for £170 ono + £10 delivery Regards Andy
  6. Well, I never thought I'd see the day that I contemplated selling my beloved Compak K10 Fresh on-demand 'titan' conical grinder.... but here it is. I bought this awesome grinder from @coffeechap a couple of years ago, and I love it - huge 68mm conical burrs, 19g dose ground in around 3.3s straight into the portafilter, small hopper - clean, quick, looks good (especially with the digital display, which I will miss deeply!) and with the knob / worm screw grind adjustment (some love it, some hate it) I think the entire package is just the best. I've not contemplated selling it, changing it or (heaven forbid) selling it once, as the grind quality, dose accuracy, speed and ease of grinding - and ultimately the taste of the resultant coffee is just the best (IMHO). Until now that is. I really don't want to sell this.... honestly, I don't.... I think it's my perfect grinder - but I have an opportunity (in a kitchen remodel kinda way) to have a "coffee corner" with all of my coffee gear in one place, and if I want to do this (which I really do, as currently the Duetto and the Compak are in two different rooms!) then the K10 Fresh is just too large vertically to fit into my scheme. Try as I might I can't make it fit, and as sad as it makes me I have (agreed with SHMBO) to move it on and find another smaller solution. So - it's immaculate. I'd be surprised if there was a single mark or scratch anywhere on it, and the paintwork is probably almost as good as when it left the factory. All of the polished metal parts still shine beautifully and look and work as well as ever. The hopper is perfect, completely clear and no scratches or marks that I can see. Everything is great. I even have the original box that Dave sold it to me in. As you can see from the photos, the 68mm titanium burrs are barely seasoned - with a lifetime absolute shot-count of 5511 (at 18g doses, that's about 99Kg - and they're rated for 1200Kg before changing!) - though I am adding about 2 or 3 a day to that currently ;-) There's a bunch of photos below - take a look and see for yourself how lovely this really is. I'm asking £900 or very near offer for it, ideally collected from Swindon, Wilts (or mutually acceptable delivery in person / meet half-way kinda stuff) or courier at your expense. I'd prefer collection for obvious reasons, even though I have the box and could pack it well. Jeez, why am I doing this......
  7. So I've been toying with both the SJ and the Ceado for the last few days, and my feeling is that the E92 just doesn't suit my usage patterns. The ceado is a proper Robur competitor of Titan class! I only have 1-2 flat whites a day, at which point the retention of the E92 becomes a fairly significant issue. However, if I was having a few more throughout the day, the sheer grind quality and flavour profile would hugely outweigh the need to flush the first shot of the day. Its super fast, super quiet, dispenses superbly neatly into the portafilter, and has a variety of nice options for timed and manual grinding. Currently has no hopper, and can be either single dosed with a tamper on top, or a Mazzer mini / SJ hopper fits fine. I'll get some pics up once I get home but keen to see if there's any interest. I believe new price is in the region of £1900 now. I'd like to get £500 for this unit. Collection preferred or postage at cost.
  8. Having sold my L1, I'm now looking to switch back to a flat burr grinder. Purchased this from dfk41 about a year ago who had just broken it in. It's only had about 33kg put through it. Please note that this sale is subject to the acquisition of a replacement, which is in the pipeline. Will be delivered in original box with full insurance. Pictures to follow!
  9. NEW PRICE 850€ !! Compak K10 FRESH grinder. 68 mm conical burrs. Mini hopper. Polished aluminum finish. Have stains on the body, I don't know why. Only used at home. 950€. Shipping from Spain included. NEW PRICE 850€ !!
  10. Due to a subtle change in my coffee habit, I am selling my Elektra Nino... This is the very same Nino that has been owned by several Coffee Forum members since new, so it has been looked after. Anyway what has been happening with me is that I find that I am using the Londinium much less than I was and I am now enjoying a SwissGold filter for long black drinks and the L1 for the rarer espresso... In essence, I have given milk the old heave-ho... My family are still using mainly flatties, so the L1 is going nowhere.... ! Which brings us back to the Nino... A brilliant "on demand" titan grinder, which really needs to be kept full of beans, and really doesn't suit either single dosing, or regular major fiddling with the grind settings... So it is up for grabs... £900ono Don't rush me now!
  11. Not heard of this before, anyone had any experience with it? 68mm conic so should be up there with some of the Titans... There is a brand new one for £775 available at the moment on Preloved, not interested myself at the moment but seems a good price. Was selling here the other day, looks like he would take £625 http://coffeeforums.co.uk/showthread.php?24469-Eureka-Olympus-KR-Grinder-New-and-Boxed-%A3700-Inc-Delivery-amp-Insured
  12. Wow , can't seem to find a 4 1 gram basket any where. I can't belive I hadn't tried this earlier when things get busy round mine with family and visitors I end up on coffee duty and I always seem to be grinding away . And as I was using my grinders and explaining why I need two different grinders it hit me. One grind with the flat burr super jolly and then one with the conical Kony, Hence that's where I need the bigger basket. The Reason i want to dose from the flat burrs first and then from the conical , that way as people drink thier drink it will start off one flavour at the beginning and be a different flavour at the end of the drink . (Genius) Now I know what you're thinking smaller dose of each , but that doesn't work I have tried it , and you can't really distinguish the difference in the cup , and for those who don't have both types of grinder I guess you could use two types of different beans. Just need to find the 4 1 gram bigger basket, any ideas ? Would like any advice as long as it's constructive .
  13. Well as this forum is aimed more towards the consumer and beginners, here is an important thread... How do you make the jump from instant coffee at home, and speciality coffee at work, to drinking great coffee at home? Methods, equipment, suppliers etc. can all be reccommended here.
