  1. Well this is something I never thought anyone would have to post! (and after googling I might actually be the first ) but I'm having an issue with the my tank of a grinder that is the Compak R120 I stopped weighing what I got out of it around a year ago because it was bang on every time so didn't see the point, I've recently change espresso machines so thought I'd treat myself and start weighing what's coming out and it's fluctuating by as much +- 0.7g (may not seem like a not but it's really out of character) I cleaned out the burr chamber at the start of the month and found the swe

    Compak R120

Finally selling my monster Compak R120 that's been sat gathering dust since I purchased an EK43S from the main man Frank at Terranova. If it's not obvious from the picture these grinders are huge 76cm tall to the top of the hopper (57.5cm with the hopper removed) and they weigh almost 6 stone so make sure you know what you're getting yourself in for. I purchased it from @cambosheff in Jan 2017 and it believe it came from another forum member before that, the bag shaker was removed when I picked it up and I didn't inherit the original packaging either. It was working without a si
  3. I'm looking for a grinder, that I will never hopefully need to upgrade to go alongside a Londinium R. After many months of reading far too many reviews the contenders are the Compak R120 or waiting for the Compak PKR or putting myself on the waiting list for a Monolith. I should add I haven't even ordered the Londinium yet. But my overall objective is to make a future proof, one off purchase on both machines. Any advice most welcome!
  4. Offering for sale my Compak R120 for £1600 Due to the weight (37kg) and size, buyer to collect please or I can possibly deliver to a 100 mile radius of Hitchin, Hertfordshire - or, meet part way. This grinder has only ever been used in a home environment and is in excellent condition. I absolutely love this grinder and the quality of espresso that it produces - however, I am (unexpectedly) planning to move onto a narrow boat for an extended period of time and sadly, the R120 just takes up too much room on the boat in a 'live-aboard' situation. The R120 truly is a fantastic
  5. having owned and used A LOT of grinders, including most of the top end ones, I have settled on the compak R120, why you might ask? Well I know it is a behemoth weighing in at over 30 kgs and it is plain huge and impractical for a kitchen (unless you you just don't care), but I have been getting the most crystal clear of shots from this beast and as a bonus that clarity continues into brewed methodology, fruits are in your face, bold and beautiful a touch of sweetness but so clean. It transcends all roast levels and will even grind for Turkish, there really is nothing grinder wise that thi
  6. Time for a magnificent raffle, this time we have the much talked about compak r120 up for grabs, this is an amazing grinder, a true single riser that does everything. Foundry have kindly supplied this one. So usual rules folks, add your name to the list, if you not interested then don't. The winning person is free to do with it what they please, if you are not happy with this please don't post on here, debate posts will be removed. Winning person to organise pick up or pay for delivery. 75 tickets at £21 per ticket, absolute cost on this one folks, your chance to get
  7. Londinium now have this (from twitter) just out of the box and are also advertising for sale on their website. From a quick Google, looks to have been around for a while but I have never seen mention of it anywhere - apart from a passing mention of 120mm burrs by coffeechap when we were chatting about grinders a few weeks ago Rather OTT for home use (not that that ever seems to stop anyone) it will do 1kg of beans in a minute! The price seems similar to EK43 and Reiss was asking for views on twitter as to whether might be the one to challenge that
