  1. Hi, any advice on how to do this? any tips? and experience. any advice? kind regards Mohammad
  2. Hi:p Over the years I've had a bunch of electric machines (such as Krupp's Nova 2000 and other point and shoot automatics) but always carried a S/S stove top throughout those years. Grinding was always by hand as I never got round to researching it. Then a friend got the bug seriously and attempted to open a transportable coffee shop with no frills. Looking up answers to his questions is how I found this place and now a year or so of lurking I finally joined up. So i still have a couple of stove top pots, a french press and a turkish copper ibrik and I'm looking for a decent e
  3. Hi Guys, I have a Gaggia Classic which is matched with a Compak K6 which has a doser. between me and my wife we drink a few cups of coffee a day and I feel i`m wasting alot of beans using the doser. It has a mini hopper also. I`m looking to sensibly/practically convert this to a doserless grinder. I have spent yesterday reading up on grinders and discovered the Niche Zero Grinder which looks perfect for my needs but I cant warrant the £500 upgrade cost when I'm told my K6 is a fantastic grinder. I have removed the doser today, which was a pretty simple task. I`ve read ab

  5. I've stumbled across this and just might get it very cheaply. I have no info on whether it runs or what condition it's in, just this photo to go on. Firstly, is it a Compak K6 and if so, is it an upgrade from the Super Jolly?
  6. This is cheeeeeeep http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Max-commercial-coffee-grinder-burr-blades-finest-quality-surrey-/401197964589?nav=SEARCH
  7. anyone have a link for a lower burr carrier on a K6, im pretty sure its goosed due to my cack handed removal attempts, but its off now and i'm trying to find a supplier. i found pennine tea and coffee but they seem to have everything except the carrier.
  8. I have the chance of buying this grinder for around £70 delivered . Really need someone to convince me to take a chance ! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252094614325?euid=44880c3627c342f8ba2f83e5c40fdef1&cp=1
  9. Going to give up this find as I have far to many grinders at the mo, if you want a great grinder for the home then check this out!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Compak-professional-coffee-grinder-spares-or-repair-/290867322669?pt=UK_BOI_Restaurant_RL&hash=item43b90b1f2d Seeker has kindly removed the hopper and doser lid for your use
  10. Hey guys, I'm sick of the ridiculous static issue that my grinder has (currently around 5.5g) and I'm trying to modify it out, atleast to some degree, but replacing the exit tunnel with a chute. I've made one out of some lightweight scrap and duct tape which is alright and has reduced the static by about 2g, but if I'm to use it in the UKBC I want it to look more professional. Also polished, finished metal will have much less friction on the grounds than ductape and reduce the static further... So my question is, "Is there an aftermarket part available for it?" I'd like to avoid the cost
  11. I bought this Compak K6 (Fracino branded on the doser, but Compak branded on the serial label) last year to use alongside my Classic on my office. Brand new 64mm flat burrs, at around 1400rpm - it's all very similar to a Mazzer Super Jolly, but the doser (IMHO) is probably nicer to use than a Mazzer one. It's a 2004 "Chrome" model, and in very good general condition. When I first bought it, I stripped it down completely (you can see some photos of the new burrs etc. in my DIP DKS-65 review) and cleaned and polished absolutely everything thoroughly (inside and out) - renewing all grease
  12. I bought a set of K6 burrs as they looked exactly like the Ceado ones I needed and had the same dimensions. However, there were enough subtle differences to not fit, so time to move on. £20
  13. Hi In a moment of weakness I bought this on the forum a couple of weeks ago. Link to buying thread below. Whilst it is a great grinder, and now about a third of the price new, it is really over the top for my needs, which is the odd espresso at work. It has 64mm flat burrs http://www.compak.es/en/productos/020106.htm So looking to pass this on to someone for whom it is more appropriate. Hoping to break even, have put less than 250g through since purchase. Condition is as I bought it. Collection Harrow, West London, or I might be able to deliver, west or north London, oth
  14. Hi! I am selling the Compak K6 I recently purchased on this forum. This is for no other reason than I did not appreciate how I would need to use such a grinder. I am sticking with the Porlex hand grinder and drill I was told by the seller it would be wise to change the burrs, I have not done this and I can report I have been very happy with the espresso grind. I am only looking to recover the costs I paid and will ship the grinder to UK mainland for £115 all in. Photos of the grinder are on: https://flic.kr/s/aHsm2kwNU1 If anyone wants to do a pick up,
  15. Hi, Lately, I have struggled to get my Compak K6 to grind finely enough for espresso. Consequently, I bought a new set of burrs (from here), but it doesn't seem to have improved. It is possible that the burrs only need seasoning (they've maybe had 200g of coffee through them) or that it's just not suited for the light roasted beans that I enjoy. I have also noticed that there seems to be a bit of play in the upper burr carrier, meaning that if tightening the grind to the chirping point, I can press one side of the adjustment collar and make the chirping stop. A while ago, I tried to
