  1. Hey everyone, After lots of research, I've decided on getting a Rancilio Silvia but unfortunately had no luck finding a reasonably priced one elsewhere, so I thought I would try on here! I have considered other e61 machines such as Berezza Hobby, Lelit Victoria etc but not the Gaggia Classic as I'm trying to stay away from aluminium boiler's. So if anyone is selling something similar, please let me know! I'm not really looking to spend more than around £300-400, hopefully this is feasible with what I have requested. Hopefully I can find something suitable on here, if not I wil
  2. I found a Bezzera BZ99S for a very tempting price and what seems a good condition on a local gumtree-like site. Can you tell me something about this machine?
  3. Hi all, A bittersweet day for me today. I've been on this coffee journey for a while now and its been a bit of a solo passion. Plenty of funny looks from the wife when I get excited about a new Tamper or milk jug, or a new bean that I cant wait to try. Well, now she gets it! She is beginning to choose more of her own coffees and is enjoying this passion with me. So why bittersweet I hear you say? Well, she loves the sheer beauty of this Bezzera machine. But she has expressed a preference for something a bit simpler which she has a hand in trying out and choosing as most of the time s
  4. As promised in a previous thread some pics of the Mazzer Major E. Sporting a trendy Christmas tin lid while I wait for the real lid to arrive, hopefully with the stainless steel grounds tray. I've also ordered new burrs. The Bezzera BZ99 I bought on this forum makes a good partner. I'm using up bought roasted beans at present but will soon be using my own home roasted! Its all good.
  5. No, neither wealthy nor famous, but definitely sulking having found out about Cup North, the biggest and best coffee event ever seen in our adopted home town, only an hour before it ended. So, sulking. My coffee adventure started with a Europiccola. I thought it might look nice in the kitchen but it proved only to be an exercise in abject futility. And it exploded (causing nasty steam burns -- our fault) and burnt out (machine's fault -- dodgy thermal cut-out). Soon an MC2 arrived from Happy Donkey. Not much later a well-worn Bezzera BZ02s accidentally followed me home. It was compl
  6. Hi there, Does anyone have any experience with these machines? I have seen some reviews on Youtube etc but they seem to be on the Galatea Domus II model. A few upgrades over the model im looking at.... Rotary pump, a second pressure gauge etc. They seem to be really good quality machines but this one has a boiler issue, its fully working but the hot water outlet has had to be blocked. The rest of the machine is all good. The guy says he has priced up a boiler from a place in Germany for £160 delivered.... As Im typing this it seems like a bad idea, but, surely any copper boiler could be
  7. For sale is my Bezzera Strega lever espresso machine. Excellent condition with the odd very faint scuff mark to the chrome if you look hard, perfect working order. Bought new from Bella Barista in August 2015. I have only ever used Everpure filtration system treated water with the machine. Supplied with Bezzera naked and double portafilters, and associated baskets (not pictured). I think I also have all the paperwork (somewhere) that came with the machine. This is the reservoir version For those who might not realise, the Strega isn’t like any other lever machine. The
  8. Upgrade-itis has bitten. I have decided to sell some of my machines to fund the purchase of a more expensive machine. This Bezzera is a very good quality machine. It has the same internals as the more expensive machines with fancier cases e.g. Pasquini Livia 90 and the BZ99. It is a Heat Exchanger (HX) machine, tank fed (no plumbing required) and takes ground coffee; when comparing prices be sure to look at ground coffee versions as it is expensive to modify a pod machine to take ground coffee. There are plenty of good reviews of this machine out there. This machine would be a defin
  9. Bezzera BZ99S on ebay for £200 on ebay Buy It Now, also starting at £98 bidding. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/bezzera-coffee-machine-/322376963552?hash=item4b0f2a15e0:g:5RYAAOSwo4pYaW-I Postage is listed at £2.80 and only 9 feedback so a little bit of a risk, but should not be an issue if paying through paypal. Might be a deal for somebody.
  10. Hello Coffee Forumers, Coffee - what a wonderful excuse. Over the few years spent in London, I have truly started to appreciate a skillfully crafted cuppa. I am a great fan of single origin bean filters and trying as many different bean varieties as possible. Working in hospitality for a while, I have experienced different levels of coffee loving/enthousiasm and after running a coffee shop with my partner and some other great people, became totally hooked. Unfortunately the cafe project has stalled for now (but you never know about the future) and we have a great pop-up shop set up to fin
  11. Hello, Can some current Bezzera owners have a look at this? You may be able to help me. I just got one of these machines and I'm having problems with it. 1. I filled the tank 2. I put in 2 hose into the tank 3. I turned the steam lever and the two switches This is the start up process in the manual. The machine pump comes on, two or three times, some water runs out, then the Power Light goes dim and the pump stops pumping. If I turn off the Pump switch, the power light goes back on. The temperature flashes. There is a video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7
  12. Single group, tank fed, HX prosumer espresso machine. Very good condition. Made in 2006, comes with double and single spouted portafilters. This was quite expensive when new, it is very much like the Pasqini Livia 90 which has the same internals in a different case, both are very well reviewed - check out the online reviews. Definitely a step up from the single boiler dual use machines such as the Classic and Sylvia at not much more money. This is the third of these machines that I have owned, you get a lot of machine for the money. This one left the factory as a ground coffee machine (as
  13. Hi all, Anyone had any problems with joystick style steam taps (Bezzera) having a bit of a bad day and that included my coffee making, for the life of me i just could not make any microfoam and i always consider being quite experienced making it over the years. Anyway my headache has gone so i investigated, looks like a faulty tap in the upright constant on position thou' plenty of steam in the handheld position is this an easy fix as i have had the machine only 1 week or will BB replace machine/tap? this is the 2nd problem i have had this week, thou' i fixed the other
  14. Bought 2 years ago with only home use. Only used to make drinks maximum 3 times a week, sometimes less due to working in the city and not having the time. Very good condition, always kept clean and descaled. Upgranded shower screen to Caffewerks and replaced seal. Comes with 3 portafilters including a bottomless. Original purchase receipts available as well. Would prefer not to post, location is London but happy to meet people. £600
  15. A couple of years old, very good condition, serviced and cleaned regularly. Max 1 shot per day over it's lifetime. Come with bottomless, single and double portafilter. Thoughts on a price?
  16. Good evening! Like many, I have gone from looking at Gaggias to Silvias, and have become thoroughly confused by the comments about stepping up to HX / double boiler machines... What I want to do is make myself three or four espressos or americanos a day, and the wife a few lattes. Then be able to cater for the infrequent family invasion. I think I have the grinder sorted out. I am really struggling with a machine. Or do I stick with the 'over the cup' plastic jobbie and filter paper?!! Criteria: -something with a small footprint -something that has good solid components,
