  1. Hi This is my first post, so please excuse my lack of technical expertise. I have had a 'New' Baby Gaggia since 2004. I believe it is the 2002 model, silver plastic body, four square push-in buttons along the top. I noticed a bit of a problem with the flow last year, bought some Gaggia descaler and that seemed to do the trick. However, the problem has re-occurred. I have de-scaled again and tried back-flushing twice. Still struggles to produce the usual amount of coffee. However, the crema is still good and the pressure through the steam wand is fine. I have noticed quite a lot of ba
  2. I have a Baby Gaggia which is about 25 years old and has been in storage for the past 20 years.I have recently run descaler through the system and the pump and boiler appear to work OK. However the initial outflow of water was slightly green in colour and although this has subsided there is still a musty smell to the water which is still slightly opaque.I would be grateful for any advice as to whether it is worth refurbishing or whether, because of its age, it is a lost cause. Thanks
  3. Jacu

    Oi

Hi, I'm really here because of my problem with my Gaggia but while I'm here. My username is Jacu. Many of you wont know but Jacu is the name of a large bird in Brazil that has a liking for the ripe coffee fruit. It is said by some that the best coffee in Brazil is that actually made from the crap of the Jacu (seriously). I've been to Brazil many times but I've never actually tasted Jacu coffee so sadly I can't confirm one way the other. My missus is Brazilian & a real coffee addict. We have a Baby Gaggia (Black) (currrently not working) & a Gaggia MDF coffee gri

    Baby Gaggia

Looking for ideas, just got baby gaggia, waiting for grinder.Using pre ground lavazza which takes @ 20 secs for a double and crema thin, my wife thinks coffee is bitter. I have tamped fairly firmly but not mush diffference. To show my wife that when grinder comes we need to grind finer to slow extraction, to illustrate this I put a double through using filter grind with a light tamp it went through in about 30 secs with a slightly better crema. I am now confused. Any advice welcome. thanks David
  5. When my Baby Gaggia gets hot the solenoid seems to trip out. If the pump is switched on from cold it pumps water through the head, but as the machine heats up the solenoid sounds as if its flicking back and forward, then cuts out altogether, water still pumps through the steam wand. I descale the machine regularly with Waitrose liquid descaler. Having read though other posting on the forum, I think the pump and solenoid are working but maybe the coffee temperature switch is broken so the machine is getting to hot. Am I on the right lines and how easy is it to replace the temperature
  6. I have a new Baby Gaggia which Philipps sent me because they lost my Gaggia which I sent in for repair. I can't get the new machine to work and have had no luck getting in touch with Philipps as they say they have passed the responsibility to saeco service who never answer the phone or reply to my emails. Basically no water comes out of the shower head. i think it might be caked up with something, as when water first came out of the frother attachment it was very white and gloopy. I can't get the shower head off, I tried with a screwdriver but it is very stuck. When I press the button to
  7. Hi all About time I introduced myself. I confess to being a converted tea drinker, still enjoy a cup of Lhasa if I'm honest. My humble set up consists of a:- Baby Gaggia with silvia wand happy donkey Alloy tamper a burnt out Krups Grinder living in the potteries as many cups as I can shake a stick at but a derth of decent cafes Gaz
  8. Hi I have a Gaggia Baby; every time I switch it on it shorts out the house electrics. It started after I turned it on its side to clean the group head. I have tried drying the electrics with a hair dryer with no luck. Have I fried the electrics or will it be ok when it has completely dried out? Any help would be much apreciated. I am not sure how long I can survive without a morning espresso.[/i] Thanks Woodymiles
