Hello coffee friends, I'm relatively new to the Forums so it's great to be in touch. My lovely husband gave me a Fracino Heavenly and a Compak grinder for Christmas. I thought I liked coffee before, when we used to have a stove-top mokka pot then a Baby Gaggia, but now I know I was so wrong. Now we're on the move to disant shores, taking our coffee beasts with us, and I need to find a good coffee roaster/supplier in New Zealand - preferably, but not absolutely necessarily, in Auckland. I know the Kiwis are good at coffee and I've seen a few Kiwis posting on here, so I'm hoping there's someone out there who can help. For tasting notes, I really like Limini Blend (by Limini). Thanks everyone.
Merdeka Coffee began small in Indonesia and are now doing the same (beginning small!) in Auckland , NZ. While licensed to provide a range of food, the roastery is initially focusing on doing what is its core business- roasting Indonesian coffee for wholesale and retail demand- whilst also supplying the standard Flatwhites, shortblacks and Cap's over the counter through one of the Wega or Astoria machines on display. Lovely bright sunny day up here in the North-East, and I'm starting off with an espresso from Hasbean's 2010 Premium Blend. I roasted these on Thursday, going a little bit darker than I normally would, and it seems to have suited the blend well. A subtle sweetness to the aftertaste. What's everyone else drinking?
