  1. My Anfim is for sale on ebay with the advert containing all the details and photos. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172341166450?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 The ebay price takes into account ebay and paypal fees and the fact that I am open to offers. I would be willing to offer a decent discount if sold on here. I would prefer cash on collection or I could possibly deliver or meet within a reasonable distance of Sale, South Manchester but I do have a decent box (not the original but from a grinder) so may consider courier collection or post. £625 but
  2. I've owned this grinder from new for two years. It has done just under 100kgs of espresso and is in excellent condition. 500kgs is the point where grind quality starts to drop, so there is loads of life left in the burrs. It's the doser model, which has excellent distribution qualities and is extremely accurate in dispensing the grounds into the portafilter. It produces extremely good espresso when paired with a good espresso machine. Grind quality is definitely a step up from other machines at this price point; a lightly modified version of this grinder was used by Sasa Sestic to wi
  3. What do people think is the best on demand grinder for under £1,000 to use with a San Remo Verona TCS?

  5. Hi All, I am looking at trying to value some equipment for a potential purchase and was wondering if anyone could tell me what a reasonable price would be for a used La Marzocco FB80 (2 group) and an Anfim super caimano grinder? Also whats everyones thoughts on the 2 bits of kit? Thanks
  6. This was used as the guest espresso grinder in my shop for a while. After I bought an EK43 it became surplus to requirements, but I held on to it as a spare. Need the space now, so it must go. It’s had relatively low usage - about a year in a low volume high end shop. The titanium burrs have greater longevity than standard ones, (up to 3x). Quoted lifespan is up to 2500kgs. It’s done less than 250kgs, so loads of life left in the burrs. It’s a doser model, which is slower than on demand, but produces a much better distribution of coffee. The doser works really well, unlike Mazzers!

    Anfim SP450 OD

(Att: Item is located in Lisbon, Portugal) The reason to sell it is very simple, really. I've just got hold of a EK43 and can't justify owning both. The Anfim is a terrific grinder. Precise, fast and delivers great extractions. This model has double fans, 75mm titanium coated burrs, digital dose timer, on demand button, 600W motor. I got a good deal from it as it was a showroom model from 2015, stored in a warehouse. Asking 750£ + shipping (i'm estimating ~130£ from Lisbon to the UK) Pictures below:
  8. Hi folks- has anyone transplanted an Anfim doser onto a Mazzer? Thinking about putting an Anfim doser on my Robur. Will it fit? Any problems encountered by those who have done it?
  9. Wrote a wee review of the grinders we've used so far here, maybe more for shop folk than domestic though: https://allstartedhere.wordpress.com/2018/09/10/grinders/ Any feedback/comments appreciated!
  10. Possibly a bargain for someone, new £89 (£140+vat at coffee omega) seems to be still in plastic packaging, looks like old stock with perhaps signs of some tarnishing, maybe also on burr surface? no idea how that affects things, maybe ok or needs caution? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANFIM-SUPER-CAIMANO-TITANIUM-BURRS-75mm-/302358556143
  11. Clearly it's old and seen better days... Anyone know what it is?

  13. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Coffee-Grinder/182907795436?hash=item2a962777ec:g:iBwAAOSwUoNaDzTT I know it's not a Caimano but it definitely looks like an Anfim. Pretty sorry condition. Cheeky low-ball offer?
  14. Anyone used one an Anfim SPII? How do they compare to the Mythos etc?
  15. I'm looking for a good grinder. Anfims pop up now and again and I know some of my favourite cafes use them. There just isn't much on the 'net that I can find about them though. There are thousands of pages of posts on Mazzer mods, burr discussions etc. I haven't even seen many in-depth reviews of e.g. the Anfim Lusso. How are they for home use? I'd like to single-dose. I'm worried about grind retention since good coffee beans are too expensive and delicious to waste! Is the 70 step adjustment I'm likely to find on a second-hand Lusso/Caimano going to be a problem?
  16. I have an Anfim Super Lusso grinder for sale in very good condition for £175 collected from Stanmore, North London (5 mins from J4 of the M1) It works perfectly and grinds fine enough (with its 75mm burrs) to choke a machine with at least 6 macro adjustments spare (12 micro adjustments) There is a lot more life left in the burrs. The doser mechanism works well, allowing you to rapidly fill a portafilter. This type of dosing produces nice fluffy, clump-free grinds The grinder is being sold as-is (not stripped and cleaned to the nth degree). I could clean this further and a
  17. I had heard bits and pieces about this place opening over the last few months but when I walked past the premises at the start of this month I spotted an EK43 sat on the counter and knew I'd have to pay a visit. It opened last week and I made the journey back to Belfast to visit at the weekend and to catch up with family of course. The set up looked promising, anfim grinder, synesso espresso machine, uber boilder and of course the EK43. They have coffee from hasbean and workshop at present but I think this will change from time to time. They had 3 different coffees on the menu and the choice w
  18. I just did the Ebay thing, and now appear to have an Anfim Super Best - the label says Mod. SB so it seems most sensible. Considering it 'came out of a closing-down café' and this seller originally got it half a year ago with a view to his wife starting something up, I'd say it hasn't been cleaned since it was made in 2006! No wonder the café went.. :-/ and probably a good job she never started selling coffee. I've just spent the whole day on a complete stripdown and rebuild; good, inasmuchas I now know how it works(!), but a rancid job as I removed over 27g of stale coffee from every pos
  19. I recently bought an Anfim Caimano for home use (until the time comes when it can shine in a cafe!) and thought I'd make a video showing the difference in doser characteristics when using both on-demand To summarise, the Mazzer throws to the left and makes a right mess, the Anfim doses mainly in the centre although slightly to the front (unless you're using a bottomless pf, in which case you can position it further up and get a perfectly centred heap) and leaves little to no mess!
  20. If you were to choose a grinder for a very busy coffee shop what would you put your money with? mazzer? mahlkonig? cimbali? any others? cheers J
  21. 23. Anfim on Demand grinder - http://www.anfim.co.uk/html/why_on_demand_.html Anfim have have been around for quite a while and well known for thier quality of grind. Now the guys at anfim have produced a range of on-demand grinders. I have one of these in the training room and I have to say that I'm very impressed. The quality of the grind is far better than the mazzer creating amazing extraction results. It's fast too, not quite as fast as the official spec for a fine grind (a throw of 16g takes 9secs) but still, compared with setting up a doser-grinder with 2 fresh shots is still fast
  24. Last night I attended a CoffeeHit open day where Paul generously laid on coffee, milk and beer, and allowed all who turned up to spend as much time as we wanted on the La Marzocco Strada coffee machine they have recently installed (and are retailing). The coffee was supplied by Square Mile and was their Autumn Espresso blend. We had a choice of grinders (Mazzer Robur E, Anfim and Mazzer Luigi (Super Jolly Electronic?) as well as pretty much every cafe accessory known to man. The only limitations were our skills (or lack of as we discovered) as we tried numerous extraction techni
  25. Hi Folks, After spending the last 12 years using and promoting the Mazzer professional espresso grinders in our business and to our customers, I'm considering venturing outside my comfort zone and taking a look at the Anfim traditional and on demand espresso grinders. What would be helpful is if anyone could let me know who has worked with this brand of espresso grinder and what their experience has been? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
