Reading around, I like the sound of an HX machine such as the Fracino Cherub because of its ability to brew and steam virtually simultaneously and apparent value for money. How
  2. Hi from a new member! My other half and I are filter coffee drinkers, normally making enough for a couple of mugs at a time. Because of this I've decided to replace our ageing budget coffee maker with a decent filter only machine. After much research it looks like a Technivorm Moccamaster fits the bill. We generally drink our coffee immediately after it's brewed, so a glass carafe will be fine, plus those models are a bit shorter which is good as it'll be under a wall unit. So, I've narrowed it down to two models: Moccamaster KB741 Manual filter basket open/half/closed c
  3. Back in may 2015 there was a very interesting and lengthy thread debating the relative merits of the profitec 700 and the QM Verona which was no doubt of help to those contemplating a DB purchase at that time. Since then the Ambiente Vesuvius has continued to gain good reviews ( if you would like the profiling options ) and the ECM Synchronica is now highly recommended by many including BB. Add to this the LR introduction and the prospect of a single group DB lever from Vostok plus the Profitec 800 Lever and the choice for a high end prosumer machines is now wide. (I note that d
  4. So I have taken the plunge, snagged myself a Eureka Zenith 65E,from the classified section of the forum (Very happy about that !!) now I need a machine to go with it! From my limited research and zero experience I am eyeing up the Rocket Cellini Plus PID Coffee Machine, I have also been looking at the Cellini Evoluzione Machine, my question is dose a rotary pump in the Evoluzione make a real difference over the Vibration pump of the Cellini Plus PID? Is the PID a real benefit if it is then why Isn't in included on the Evoluzione What is the better option for me ?
  5. Hi Folks My love of nice coffee has brought me to these forums, had been using a simple machine for filter coffee and expressos and when on holiday recently, i had some lovely expressos and thought id like to up the level! In terms of budget i would like to start low then can build up later:good: been looking at ebay after looking through threads here, seems like a gaggia classic can be bought there for around approx £50-80, then i would look at a grinder, not looking for a super massive or super expensive one, then beans? So much to learn he-he. Any advice on initial equipment(essen
  6. I am currently looking to purchase my first espresso machine and I'm hoping you guys could help. If you could go back and have your first coffee machine experience again, what would you do differently? What machine do you wish you'd bought? I should note I'm open to any machine, I just want a good first-time experience so anything under my budget is up for to consideration. I've been looking at the sage dual boiler and the La Pavoni Esperto Competente. The Sage DB seems to have good reviews and I think that the ability to maintain constant pressure, temp etc. while I tweak various el
