  1. Hi Coffee lovers! My first Thread/post on this site. I have recently been looking at the VFA Torino 1 Group espresso machine and have found it for £699 inc VAT on a site called MyEspresso. I was thinking of buying it in a few weeks time until i came across a thread on here about how bad the customer service is with this site. I was shocked at what i was reading about how he doesnt help and always talks down to customers, blaming them for faults. as you can imagine i dont want to even think about buying off this site now! But, they are the only dealer i found that stocks this machine. Is there any other dealers in the uk? If not i was thinking of a Fracino Cherub/Heavenly. Kind Regards Chris
  2. Hi For sale is my Fracino Classic Semi Automatic 1 Group. Only selling as I've upgraded to a Londinium I. The machine needs to be plumbed in for both mains water and waste although I've known some people use with bottled water without hooking it up to the mains supply. This is a great machine and gives great consistency with the rotary pump over a vibratory pump. Have the machine hooked up to a BWT BestMax XL water filter. Comes with a double spouted portafilter handle with a double basket and blank basket for back flushing the machine. Its not a small machine (or the prettiest) but for me it was a huge improvement on the rancilio silvia/gaggia classic I've had previously and has loads of steam pressure for preparing milk based drinks. With it being a HX machine you can brew and steam at the same time. There is also a hot water tap you can use for cup warming and the steam wand has a 4 hole tip. Haven't got room for both so this one's looking for a new home. Collection preferred but I do travel with work so may be able to deliver/meet halfway depending on location etc. There are the usual scratches on the top from cup warming and also on the drip dray as is usual from general use. There are also a couple of small dents in the stainless steel side panel (see last photo- but this makes it look bigger than it is!) but they don't detract from the machine or affect it's coffee making abilities! £300 photos are now below, if you want any specific ones just shout let me know if you have any questions Thanks for looking Jon
  3. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/121905538790?dest=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fitm%2F121905538790 Any good? Probably a BZ40 a design from 12 or so years back. If so it is an hx with 3.4l boiler
  4. Check out the hand-fill Iberital L'anna 1 group here http://www.thecoffeebean-vanandroaster.co.uk/Iberital-L-anna.html
  5. I'm looking to buy a secondhand 1 group commercial espresso machine for the Office (plumbed in) that I can also use for the odd event (with flojet) ive been using a Conti CC100 which has been on loan and it's been amazing but it's time to give it back. Have used a La Spaziale S1 Mini Vivaldi in the past which was great but looking for any other recommendations? thanks Scott
  6. hi all, new to this forum and just wondering about this. i just received my new (bought at auction 2nd hand) San Marino 1group machine, after plumbing it into a water reservior (5l bottle, since its complete overkill machine for my home) and getting it all up to temperature and working nicely i notice that a LOT of heat is released out the top to the cupwarmer tray. I'm aware this is intentional and makes perfect sense for a cafe where the machine is designed for, however for a home scenario the wasted energy seems a bit much. i was thinking about getting some armaflex tape which is designed for insulating hot pipes (rated up to 120c) and wrapping the main 5L boiler with it. obviously not covering any pressure release valves etc. can anyone forsee a problem with doing this? all the temperature and pressure sensors are internal so wont be affected, and hopefully it should reduce the amount of time the heating element is on inside the boiler, while also making a "greener" machine. PS: any mod who feels this is in the wrong place please move it, i normally hate on people who say this but it does look like the most sensible location to post this question. cheers, novex.
  7. Hello, I am setting up a pop-up mobile coffee van (not a full catering/coffee van more a kit of parts in a van) this summer and I'm looking into spring lever machines for this. I'll be honest, I am very new to this, I have done some training on a semi-auto machine. But I am looking for a dual fuel spring lever machine so I can power it with gas. I am planning to get it early so I can do as much practice/learning on it as possible. I am really impressed with the Londinium machines, but they are quite expensive. I would be able to justify it more if it was only the single group version but then I fear I may need the double? This will be a pop up for the summer (and could be used in the future on locations and further pop ups) but the business will move to a location next year when we will switch to a semi-auto machine. Hence my reluctance to pay a huge amount of money. I have also looked at the Astoria Rapallo, Fracino Retro, Bezzera B2000AL and Izzo Pompei but the Londinium II seems to stand out among them. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards Max Burgess
