Default Baby is frothing lethargically ?? need new steam thermostat

I have 2 Babies - 2002 and 2005. Happy with both in general. But the 2002 model steams a little slower and takes longer to get to temperature. Works OK, just the 2005 is a little better. Does this point to a new steam thermostat?

I would go for a PID - makes much better steam (and you do not need to use the steam thermostat at all)

The idea that someone would post on coffeeforums for emergency advice regarding their frothing baby is amusing me far more than it should.

So how do you fit a subcutaneous thermostat in your average baby? Does it require an general anaesthetic or just something local?
