I roast in an over-gas, manual drum roaster, capacity of ~500-550 grams. Roast time to F.C. is ~10m.

My question is what is the best heat “progression”?

Drum is over a big size burner that I can regulate and I can apply:

1) steady temperature throughout the roast (lower flame when in F.C.)
2) start low temp and gradually rise the temp
3) start high for few minutes and lower temp gradually

All 3 types come to basically same time, 10-12 minutes to first crack.

In your opinion, what is the best way to roast them, I have been experimenting with that and getting some different results. I am not a beginner, but with all these variables and different results I thought I ask what you roasters think.
