  1. This item has now been moved to the new Adverts section of the site. Thank you.
  2. Thanks, all. Much appreciated. Yes, it has a doser. The funny thing is, whilst intended for cafes, the doser is actually excellent for single dosing. I know it sounds odd but I found very much that the act of grinding into the dosing chamber and then sweeping it through into the portafilter helped to take out clumps without much (if any) need for RDT. Scott Rao observes the same thing in one of his books on espresso. Thanks again for the replies.
  3. Hello - I wanted to gauge views from Compak owners as to what a second hand K10 should be worth. I’ve listed mine in the adverts section of the forum for £500 but haven’t had any interest as yet. Not in any great rush to sell but keen to understand if I am unintentionally off with my pricing... Any thoughts much appreciated. Cheers.
  4. Compak K10 Pro Barista Grinder View Advert For sale, my beloved conical grinder. I bought it new in 2014 and it has been used in my home espresso set up ever since (I would estimate 10 drinks per week on average). I am looking for £500. It still works perfectly. It has some cosmetic marks as you would anticipate - nothing major. For sale, my beloved conical grinder. I bought it new in 2014 and it has been used in my home espresso set up ever since (I would estimate 10 drinks per week on average). I am looking for £500. It still works perfectly. It has some cosmetic marks as you would anticipate - nothing major. Photos at this link: https://share.icloud.com/photos/0CGJhrH8ecnehIxCsTcRJqHtQ I modified it for single dosage by removing the plastic covers to expose the hole where the ground coffee comes out. I still have the plastic covers and screws so if you want to convert it back to "standard" that is easily done. When using for single dosage, my experience has been that retention can be as low as 0.1g per shot if you sweep it out each time to ensure you get as much of the coffee through as possible. It just requires a bit of patience and familiarity with the set up (failing which retention is a bit higher). Another point to note is that even though the dosing chamber is intended for cafes it actually works brilliantly for single dosing - the act of sweeping out the coffee from the chamber into the portafilter reduces clumps and reduces the need for any RDT (as Scott Rao identifies in his writing on espresso). It comes with the shiny metal mini-feeder (not sure what else to call it) that sits on top and which was purchased separately by me. I have never used the hopper that it came with because (A) it does not fit well with a single dosing workflow and (B) it does not fit under my counters. But the hopper (completelyunused) is included too. I am in Brentwood in Essex and would prefer to sell to someone who can collect. However, if someone wants to buy it and to arrange a courier then I am happy to do that at the buyer's risk (i.e. if it were to get lost or damaged in transit, I am not responsible). Thanks for looking.
