  1. Been through the thread twice now and think the Rocket Espresso Cellini Stainless Steel Cup Rail is still available. I'll take it at £20 asking if it is. Am London based - so we can sort out collection or postage if you are happy.
  2. Brilliant idea and a beautifully executed website - well done. I've signed up too :-)
  3. Hey Paul - I opted for 2 bags of the Skyscraper thanks to the comments on this thread, and a bag of the Summit blend too. The tasting notes made me think my wife would particularly enjoy it
  4. Was just looking for some new beans as I've just finished my last batch of Foundry beans. Thanks for sharing, selection now ordered.
  5. I've been using the same Aeropress for the last 3 years now. It's proved to be a good way to meet new people, most of whom ask "what is it?". Some sort of Austin Powers-inspired pump? It's only as good as the grinds you put in it though, but even the most expensive beans are a fraction the cost of buying crap coffee from the local coffee shop.
  6. Just come across the story that Renato Bialetti, the inventor who made stove-top espresso makers popular, has died and had his ashes interned in one of his own pots. Just hope no-one puts him on the stove http://www.buzzfeed.com/krishrach/the-man-who-made-the-stove-top-coffee-pot-famous-just-had-hi?
  7. Yep - I agree with Paul. The act of creating the steam means that the deposits are mostly left in the boiler as they are the impurities that are left behind
  8. Although the original video from Seattle Coffee Gear got taken down, there's still this general de-scaling video that features a Rocket and uses a traditional approach: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLQup1NKYb8. The original I seem to remember them putting one side of the rocket on a brick for an hour to tilt it, then the other side, then the front and back just to move the water up the sides of the boiler. As pointed out here though, if water doesn't normally come into contact with those sides, then I don't think we need to worry about it.
  9. I'll take that at asking price of £39 including postage
  10. BAD! Bad bad bad bad bad. I can't remember the last time I threw a cup of coffee away, but I did today. Coffee was burnt, bitter and undrinkable. Urgh
  11. My local farmers' market is Balham and this will be their first week. Looking at their twitter feed (https://twitter.com/wagaya5), appears they can be found at St Johns, opposite Waterloo station somewhere, west hill farmers market (think it's Wandsworth) and a shop around Camden lock.
  12. Has anyone tried them? Have done a search on here and can't see any mention of them. They appear to roast their Ethiopian beans in London and then sell them at food/farmers' markets around London. Having just got an email from my local farmers' market that they're making an appearance this Saturday, thought I'd see if there are any recommendations for their beans. If not, I'll let you know what I find.
