  1. Neat idea. I seem to remember one guy on here made an even smaller hopper that took just one dose at a time. Can't remember what he used.
  2. I have the standard hopper. Looking at the Mazzer website I can see the sj is similiar height so I guess a mini is a more likely purchase. I think I will just have to accept the lower grind quality unless as you say I go the hand grinder route. Was very close to buying a Pharos at one point.
  3. I guess each forum has its own approach. I just got off HiFi Wigwam where a guy asked what was a sensible selling price for an expensive CD player and he got tons of help and advice. Ah well.
  4. I'm thinking of downsizing my current grinder a Mazzer Major electronic to something more domestically acceptable. What do you guys think is a sensible price to ask? It is in very good condition. Also what do you think would be a good replacement? I guess a smaller Mazzer is the obvious answer.
  5. Can see I've overpriced this so how about £37.00 posted. That's less than half new price going off Coffee Hit prices.
  6. I've decided to sell my RB tamper as it gets little use. Nice condition just some very minor marks on the metal base. Beautiful handle in Zebrano wood. 58mm base with C ripple - see photos. £37 posted 1st class recorded( reduced from £45 ). Paypal please with buyer picking up fees.
  7. Thanks Gary. I've sent a copy of the post to Coffeehit so hopefully they can help resolve this.
  8. Hi all, been a while but I am still roasting, grinding and drinking good coffee. Well I was until this morning. I decided to treat myself to some new burrs for my Mazzer Major Electronic. I bought a new set of titanium coated burrs ref T151B advertised as for the Major and Royal. Problem is the outer cutting edges of the blades seem to get almost instantly jammed full of fine grinds and then the the rest of the beans just sit in the middle unable to move across the blades. I noticed that the design of the cutting edges is different to the original fitted burrs. I put the original burrs back on and no such problem. Grinding fine. So did I buy the wrong burrs or is there some type of bedding in procedure? Possibly the 151B do not agree with the higher RPM of the Major and suit the Royal better. Any advice very welcome.
  9. It's even better in English! http://www.growerscup.com/eng/
  10. Hi Anyone else tried one of these yet? http://www.growerscup.com/ko/ A portable coffee brewer that weighs 50grams!! Pretty cool if you are into lightweight walking/backpacking. Is contains 26g of single estate ground coffee (so the brew bag is 24 grams!!)- mine was Nicaragua (fair trade organic). Not bad. The makers claim it is like a french press - it isn't, its actually a filter/ drip system. You pour in 500ml of water and wait 5-8 mins depending on strength. The best bit once used I reckon you could put your own coffee in and reuse it. Not what the manufacturers would wish! I will be taking mine on my next walking trip. It only costs a few quid - available on amazon but I got mine at Go Outdoors.
  11. Hi I have a La Pavoni Europiccola 8 Cups Espresso Machine on ebay the link is below. It has quite a few extras over the standard machine. Bidding to start at £150. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221209295922?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649
  12. Thanks I'll put a link in now.
  13. Are links to ebay sales permitted? I have a La Pavoni Europiccola on there - it didn't sell when I tried it on the forum. .
  14. Make that 9 just added a Sintrax to my collection. Christ I am addicted to this!
  15. Just wondered how you are finding your syphon coffee. I'm completely hooked by both the coffee and the machines. Now up to 8 syphon machines of various sizes and ages. Anyone interested should check out Classicona web site, he also trades on ebay as Classicona. Robert is very knowledgable and helpful guy and can supply spares not available elsewhere.
  16. Thanks for the number. It seems it was Nochex at fault - London espresso got my order today from Nochex who took cash from my account on 28th Jan! London espresso guys are now processing the order. I think London espresso need to look at their online ordering system however - I've never seen anything as crude as that. Probably better to order by phone.
  17. Yes that's right also http://www.londonespresso.co.uk/
  18. Any one had any problems with these guys? I used their bizarre online nochex ordering system to order parts for my Bezzera BZ99. I got a nochex confirmation but no order number so I phoned and was told they had not received a nochex order. I emailed a copy of my nochex confirmation but when I phoned they still said they had not had an order. I have checked my bank balance and the money has gone out (luckily small order). I will phone again for the fourth time to chase this up today - on their premium rate phone line.
  19. So am I right in assuming that the Major would not have the welly for the burrs you Royal boys are discussing? Have just bought the 151A burrs from Coffee Hit.
  20. Now gone to bidding so BUY IT NOW option has gone.
  21. Looks like a good grinder for a reasonable £99.99, possibly a Mazzer or similiar. Could be good buy for someone. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Commercial-COFFEE-MACHINE-GRINDER-Coffee-Grinder-Excellent-Condition-/271112490898?pt=UK_BOI_Restaurant_RL&hash=item3f1f904f92
  22. Thanks for checking it out. Appreciate you trying.
  23. Hi Is it possible to reset the electronic counter on a Mazzer Major E to zero? Have googled it but no joy. Thanks.
