  1. Ok I removed the screen and there was a little build of coffee residue behind I have cleaned it as per a video I found on youtube and replaced it. However, the portafilter is now a VERY tight fit, so much so that there is much more resistance when locking it into the 12 o’clock position. I am guessing this is normal as the rubber gasket has to now settle after being remove etc?
  2. Well they say they are good for 70L (so the packaging says) I change it after about 60. I suppose I could use ashbeck water and the filter?
  3. I see your point! I will clean it when it has cooled down and let you know how bad it was haha. if I am using the lelit filters do I still need to use special water? does the filter not do a good enough job at removing scale forming ions?
  4. Do you use the filter as well as a 50/50 mix of ashbeck and volvic? Also is there any particular type of ashbeck water you use?
  5. People remove and clean behind the shower screen every 3 days? That seems somewhat excessive isn't it? Or am I being incredibly nieve here? What type of bottled water does everyone else use then as an alternative to using filters? Thanks for the reply.
  6. Hi guys and gals, I got my lelit bianca back at the start of March and absolutaly love the thing. I live in an area with medium softness water (south west wales) and I have been possitively religious in changing the 70L filter in the tank. My question is this. Do I need to descale the machine and if so how often and how? I am open to any advice as to specific water to use also if anyone has any nuggets of wisdom :). Thanks
  7. Thanks guys! Amazing tips. I will record myself pulling a shot asap and post here!
  8. Hi guys, I have just received my new coffee machine a Lalit Bianca and my new coffee grinder a Eureka mignon specialita. I am very happy with them however, I am having some trouble pulling a good shot. I am using Square mile Red brick coffee (a blend i hear is very nice) i have the PID boiler temp set at 93 degrees C (a temperature i hear is good for this plend). 18g in 35g out in 30 seconds which is also suited to this coffee apparently. However, i am not getting a good crema. It is not long lasting and by the time i have steamed my milk the crema is all but gone. I am also getting slight channelling. I have been using a leveler but it is not a tight fit. I also find it hard to do a consistent tamp. Are "fast tampers" any good? And if so which one should i go for? Any help would be appreciated! Sam.
  9. Where did you purchase it from? If you don' mind me asking ofc.
  10. Having looked at a few videos already I can see the lelit bianca dual boiler is by far a superior machine to the rocket! the Lelit is at the top of my list at the moment.
  11. Ohh the Mignon XL looks nice! Top of the pile at the moment is the lelit bianca dual boiler and either the Mignon xl or Niche (if I can find one). The lagom p64 is nice! However, I think this is going a little too "balls to the wall" haha.
  12. As far as the grinder I would love to get the Niche Zero. However, I don't have a clue how to go about getting one! I have ofc googled but everything seems out of stock etc.
  13. The Lelit Bianca Dual Boiler - Paddle PL162T looks awesome! This will most definatly be at the top of my reading up on list for the next few days.
  14. Hello everyone. I have been reading a good few posts about newbie coffee lovers (like myself) asking for help and advice on a new coffee set up. However, they haven’t really covered what I was looking for so I though I would make a new post. I currently have a Sage Barista Express which was the best machine I could really think of getting with my past room constraints. However, I am moving into a new property which is much larger, and I thought this was the perfect time to upgrade. My Budget for an espresso machine and grinder is £2500 but depending on the options presented I might be persuaded to go a little higher. The machine I was looking at was the Rocket Giotto Evoluzione Cronometro R and a Baratza sette 270wi grinder (I would like a niche zero but they seem rarer than rocking horse @$*& at the moment). Is this a well paired set up? The only thing I was not sure about with the espresso machine was the plumbing it in part. The area I live the water is classed as “soft” and therefore, I was unsure if I needed a filter system? Should I get a plumbed in machine or a normal tank setup? What are your opinions on the proposed choices I have made and what alternatives would you suggest? Also What retailers would you suggest I purchase my setup from? I currently plan on using “Bella Barista”. Thanks in advance for all your help! Sam.
  15. Hi, I just thought I would make an account on this forum for some advice on a new coffee setup I plan on getting for my new house I will be moving into at the end of the month. I have been reading the forums for a few hours now and everyone seems really nice!
