  1. The DB is now sold (to Techno) and payment received
  2. Sure did. Mine was really bad. To the point where it buzzed from the moment you started the shot to the moment it finished. After swapping the solenoid it was good as new. The buzzing is the solenoid (the little black box) itself. The rest is just brass fittings, a spring and some seals. Which can be stripped and cleaned to refresh them.
  3. The solenoid was a nightmare to find. There's so many variations of it! However, I can confirm that this is the one you need for the DB: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B083WMDXK3/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1NEMWI560TOTQ&psc=1 It's the solenoid only, it doesn't include the rest of the fitting. Not that the rest is typically needed and it does save you about Β£50 oiver buying the whole thing The washers I got from this seller on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bespoke-Custom-PTFE-Teflon-Washers-1-5mm-thick-various-sizes-available-to-80mm/302592678775?hash=item4673eddb77:g:uI
  4. I knew I'd missed a key detail and now I know what it was πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ Sorry, I'm based in North Nottinghamshire (NG18). Drop me a PM if you're happy to proceed and we can arrange everything
  5. They're clean, simple, well made, and from what I've observed so far they're effective too The grinder gap is starting to scream at me to put something in its place πŸ˜†
  6. Looking for a new loving home is my Sage Dual Boiler. I purchased this used a couple of years ago, where it's served me well on my journey to making better espresso. Since buying it I've made my way through replacing all the common service/wear items, such as: Solenoid valve All black Viton O rings - Boilers etc PTFE washers on the steam wand - I had these custom made to fit. I have spares which I'll include Showerhead seal/gasket Shower screen inner - The plastic part that sits between the group head ad the outer screen. It had cracked Shower screen ou
  7. It's a V60 recipe by Girls Who Grind Coffee and illustrated by Veronica Dearly. My wife bought it for me a while back but never found its home anywhere. When we moved to our new home late last year it seemed to fit this space well, so I popped it in a frame and mounted it. It's actually a solid recipe too Although, for filter I'm normally an Aeropress kind of guy. My travel one (I have two, as you do πŸ˜‚) has been all over the world with me. Not been far recently though, like all of us 😭
  8. Small update, with something joining us and something going to a new home: The addition is a solution to keep those all important beans fresh. Up to now I'd simply left them in the resealable bags they came in but wanted something more effective. Enter the Airscape (Small - 300g). So far I'm impressed with both the finish and the functionality. There's a very satisfying expulsion of air when the internal seal is pushed in, with the opposite action being much the same. It's a very tactile experience. It's too soon to know how well it performs but I'm confident it with do what it does well.
  9. I use a Comandante C40 for espresso and I'm really enjoying the results. I also enjoy hand grinding as part of the workflow, which I appreciate isn't the case for many. I've oftened wondered what the ceiling is for grind quality with hand grinders. Would a well aligned HG-1 for example be able produce the same consistency of grind as a high-end electric using the same burr set? With manual grinding there's inevitably the point where the torque of a human arm is overuled by an awkward bean, causing a stutter in the grind. Whereas an electric, with a high wattage and high torque motor,
  10. As long as it brings you the pleasure you want it doesn't need to be tidy I get pleasure from things being neat and tidy. Which isn't easy when your wife appears to be the opposite πŸ˜‚
  11. Thanks for the comments ☺️ It's actually a little lighter on machinery at the moment as the Super Jolly has gone to a new home. Now the decision is what to put in its place?! πŸ€”
  12. Phew! I dodged a shopping bullet there! πŸ˜‚ If you're happy to go ahead drop me a PM and we'll arrange collection. Both my wife and I are based at home (even before it became cool 😁), so you could collect pretty much whenever.
  13. πŸ˜‚ Β£10? So Β£230 total? Thinking bigger I should really make it a completely ridiculous price, so you say no and I don't have the risk of being made to go into Meadowhall by my wife! 🀣
  14. Whereabouts in Sheffield? Or were you thinking straight up delivery, if the White Rose I'm finding is the one in Leeds (according to Google)?
