  1. Yes I admit it! One demerara sugar cube that sinks to the bottom and I get a lovely sweet sugary mouthful at the end of the cup and I'll keep doing that until the doc (or dentist) tells me not to 🤭 (or until I can make better tasting coffee 🙄).
  2. I was just wondering why Lance Hendrik was using a niche to do this shot on the you tube video if , like you say, " it's not good on low extraction grinders for example conicals in general"? Also I get really good results with decaf using this method which are definitely not light roasts, it seems to get rid of all the bitterness very often associated with them.😀
  3. Surely not? Buy it now for nearly £7000 with a starting bid of £1400. It looks like it's been stored in with the goat shed for the past 60 years. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164951803945?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D1f8
  4. Hi, Could I take this please if it's still available? Thanks
  5. ?Second hand machine where you know it's history and or the person selling it. You get more machine for your money this way than buying brand new but I wouldn't buy blind . The classified on here is good as often the history of the machine is known and many sellers on this forum would rather their machine go to help someone likeminded than sell it elsewhere for a bigger profit . 😊
  6. I think he handled that rather well. Matt Hancock had better be taking notes, his turn next. Hell hath no fury and all that!
  7. Yes I agree with you, I think he's going into territory he's probably not the best person for and if he were honest, does not interest him. His "spark" was not there on this video. If people on here who have/had these machines over a long period of time and know them inside out collaborated to share their objective unbiased thoughts , you would may well have the most comprehensive & honest review that you would ever get or need.

    That's a shame.

It’s so archaic looking, just mahoosive! I’m sure that will be one thing they will want to “streamline “ in the future. It’s like Naomi Campbell being coupled with Sid Large.
  10. I really enjoy Craft House as well.
  11. Yes I agree. We try to have bee friendly plants, never use weed killer or insecticides and try not to be too tidy in the garden. Lots of nettle patches, rotting logs etc. We had a wasps nest in an old playhouse, they never hurt anyone although annoying if you had a sweet drink in the garden and they help with the pests in the vegetable garden. I remember reading that wasps are hugely important and unfortunately their benefits to the balance of nature are rarely appreciated. I’m not trying to sound pious but the more humans can do to help the better.
  12. There's much debate on whether Einstein actually said it but Where would we be without bees? As far as important species go, they are top of the list. They are critical pollinators: they pollinate 70 of the around 100 crop species that feed 90% of the world. Honey bees are responsible for $30 billion a year in crops. That’s only the start. We may lose all the plants that bees pollinate, all of the animals that eat those plants and so on up the food chain. Which means a world without bees could struggle to sustain the global human population of 7 billion. Our supermarkets would have
  13. @dfk41 I'll have to decline your generous offer, unfortunately there was a "raid" last night, no survivors!
  14. Ignorance is bliss but not for the bees
  15. Yes, I thought Honey or Mason bees. All bees , which ever species need protecting. Once bees become extinct mankind will shortly follow.
  16. How come they don't look very alive?!!

Thanks, yes it's very retro. I wonder how / if it differs to the Robot? The coffee does look good!

How does the Faema compare to the Flair pro?
  20. Not wanting to hijack this thread but can any one just clarify for me about using the "emergency stop". I know nothing about these machines but may be interested in the future but from what I have read it does say not to use the emergency stop unless its an emergency as it puts undue stress on the components. Is it alright then to use the emergency stop and then follow on with the cooling cycle? It just seems so many people do seem to use it as a norm rather than for its real purpose? Like I say I am not qualified to speak but would be grateful for this to be cleared up for me.

Funnily enough I just received an e-mail from Doppio this morning:- We are expecting to hear from Flair US very soon (within a couple of weeks). You will be notified as soon as we have any news. Kind regards, It may be here sooner than I thought, seems that they're finally singing from the same song sheet.

I didn’t realise only 50$ cheaper, that doesn’t say much for quality of the unit then if that’s all they knock off😩. They haven’t said a price yet. Doppio and Flair seem to contradict each other. Doppio say they are waiting for Flair to release units to them but Flair says they are waiting to be contacted by Doppio. With all this dilly dallying they are missing out on sales.

I have my name on the waiting list at Doppio who will be selling it but later in the summer. I would rather bide my time that pay huge sums on duties and delivery fees. I also enquired with Flair about the 58 developing a fault and if it did then it would have to be returned to the USA if you purchased it on their website. Even people in the U.S haven't had there's yet , I think there was a problem with one of the components and the facebook page has been very quiet about the Flair 58 , I'm sure if many people had it they would be shouting from the rooftops. Not sure if I will purchase one,
