  2. So have adjusted the inner burr to a finer grind and now getting 17g in to 35g our in approx 20s so still too fast and getting a sharp taste. Assume I need to still go finer?
  3. I’ve been stopping the shot at around 50g using scales under the cup and finding it too weak and watery. I’ll give the finer grind a go using the photos in a different reply and see how I get on!
  4. Have been weighing and am at 17g +- .2g which I assume shouldn’t be having affecting it this much. Thanks for the photos, I’ll give that a go! Do you do a programmed liquid volume? I have been using the double cup and stopping it at approx 50g liquid.
  5. Hi everyone, just got a new barista express machine and having some issues dialling in. I am on the finest grind setting with around 17g coffee (2 oclock on the grind amount knob) in my double basket and I feel like I’m tamping hard enough. However when I extract a double cup, it takes about 10s from button press to seeing first coffee which then seems to come out too fast and the pressure gauge doesn’t go into the optimal region. Ending up with around 1:3 ratio in about 25s and the espresso has a thin crema with sour taste. I assume it’s under extracting due to too much water a
  6. Medium roast in my opinion. On the page it has “We create a new and unique profile for each coffee we roast. Although the profiles are different, our approach is always the same, to highlight and accentuate the flavours created at the farm and mill.   7. Resolute and San Fermin are particularly nice in my opinion. They have 20% sale on now so could always pick up some to see if you enjoy it before doing a subscription.
  8. I really rate Origin and they do a few different subscriptions I think. Personally never enjoyed Pact coffee, haven’t got on with the taste.
  9. Nice, I used to live on Bevenden Street just round the corner. Many good places nearby as to be expected in Shoreditch, but Friends of Ours is great.
  10. Hey everyone, Looking to get my first espresso machine and had settled on a 2nd hand classic (obviously), to then see that one can pick up a 2nd hand baby class for around half the price. Have read around on the forum and online to see very mixed things about the baby class - some love it and others hate it. I would love to hear people’s thoughts on the baby class and how big the difference is to a beginner, as this has thrown a spanner in the works!
  11. Friends of Ours on Pitfield Street in Hoxton is my go-to in London. Really friendly place where they brew Dark Arts Coffee and serve exceptional food. Been countless times and the coffee is always top notch. Get an anzac biscuit if you're there - the people who run it are Australian and so the anzacs are second to none.
