DeLonghi KG79 grinder doesn't grind coarse enough
hubcap replied to Feverhorizon's topic in Grinders | Machines | Accessories
I have the Delonghi KG79 for my Moka and Moccamaster I bought it because I cba to mess with the Mignon settings. No problems here with coarseness. -
Straight from the tap mate.

@ChilledMatt, @DavecUK, Not all the splashes, also means I can switch on, walk away and let it do its thing. I've read that the main criticism with Osmio is the lack of adjustment with the drip tray, which I agree with, my solution suits me for this reason.

If anyone dislikes the water drop and the splashes, i bought this from amazon completely stops the splashing and matches really well. Upturned plastic plant pot and felt pads.

way more efficient than a kettle, you do need to waste the first few ml as the water heats up but not a great deal.
-
Thats the one i bought for my Mara (not X) but I think they fit. They were £20 quid cheaper when I bought them though. Amazon also do the bottomless pf in wood. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B082BQQXYY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I only think they will fit the X so make sure before purchase obviously.

Don't forget to store your kettles (you won't need them) 😛

Ridiculous idea: Using steam wand for steaming custard
hubcap replied to tripleshot's topic in Coffee Lounge
I make Horlicks with the steam wand - mix the paste in the jug, add the milk and steam ! By the way if you have never had coffee custard you are missing out, just add coffee granules (add to taste) to the made custard = transformed and very nom nom........... -

Longevity of E61 HX machines versus Sage Oracle
hubcap replied to cafekrazd's topic in New Members Section
@cafekrazd, I had the Duo Temp and smart grinder, to be honest the grinder was abit pants when it came to the finer end of grinding. The Duo Temp was an ok machine but very limited in what you could do with it, I soon outgrew the "I do everything" concept. I moved both on when I heard all the horror stories of sage replacement parts not being available to buy (still the case today ?) Putting a fear into me that I would have a land fill machine sooner, rather than later. I ended up buying the Lelit Mara PL62, which was the MaraX predecessor and a Mignon Specialita - ver -
