  1. I have both. The ceramic are beautiful to hold and look at, but chip very easy. So I would recommend the stainless. (not sure if BB still stock the ceramic anyway).
  2. Ok, my thoughts :- Dosing cup held to stop the over flow ? (messy). No mention of the bellows. & the same adjustment as on other Mignons - I bought a second grinder due to this adjustment being so unworkable. Not for me I'm afraid. I'll stick to my 3rd party 3D printed bellows option, even though I have to lift the cup to avoid a mess.
  3. @turtlepace To be fair, it is totally different to mine, mine has old fashioned welding, but saying that, mine is quite old. Maybe they have updated the way they manufactor them, it does look cleaner and smoother. I wouldn't worry too much as it's Aluminium and there are many rumours about using Aluminium anyway (right or wrong, depends who you believe). They make a great cup of coffee, just enjoy.
  4. Excellent idea mate, cannot believe I never thought of that.
  5. The person switches on the machine which starts the motor then releases the beans onto the already spinning burrs.
  6. Sorry, without emptying the machine I'm not sure if there is a thread for screw in legs etc' I am now thinking about using a block of walnut to rest the machine on, instead of legs.
  7. @DavecUK, Thanks for the reply. I thought exactly the same after alot of googling, but was worth an ask. Would have been nice to match the wooden accessories
  8. Does anybody know if there are alternative feet for the original Mara Wooden, Chrome or whatever. Many thanks.

    British spiders

A few years ago I awoke to find my bottom lip was swollen ( like the latest fashion for silly women) After a couple of days it got a little worse so I ventured to the doctors ( managed to get an appointment) After he checked with a magnifing glass a spider bite was blamed, apparentley they visit us in the night. The swelling went down after a couple of days and I no longer looked like Leslie Ash. It was a great source of entertainment for my friends and family.
  16. It puts my mind at rest - many thanks @Coff Hey
  17. Does anyone know from what manufacturing dates this started to happen ? I bought my Specialita 16cr in Oct 2019.
  18. Due to the very painful adjustment wheel (back and forth between grind sizes) with my Specialita, I opted to buy a Filtro for pour over etc'. If it has the same adjustment, then it's a no no for me. I hope I'm wrong.
  19. Same as Dave, let the first 10ml go then make tea, no problems I went for the white version, matches most of the kitchen white goods.
  20. Just to add my twopence, Ozmio all the way, plus the fact I no longer need a kettle, apart from pour-over (absolutely no scale) . As above if it went wrong today, another one would be ordered straight away. Excellent bit of kit.
  21. I have the Brewista Smart Scale II and also an Amazon cheapie for making my eliquid. Tbh i find little or no difference in the scales apart from some features that the Brewista has - which I do not use anyway. As long as it Tares, Calibrates and has a Timer you should be good.
  22. I tried to get serious about it all, but after all these years my taste buds are shot to hell. After all, it's just a cup of coffee (even thinking about moving the machine and grinder on).
  23. 18gr in - whatever out, I dont care anymore. I bought a single doser, and used it twice, I now just throw 18 into the hopper and use what comes out, or use a timed dose. Each to their own, personally I can no longer be doing with all the f**king about.
  24. Like him or not, he certainly knew a sense of duty - I liked him. RIP.
