  1. I'm good bro, not a lot of time to check in at the forum at the moment with work and twins but life is good. How are you mate? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  2. So glad that so many people are still refering to this thread. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  3. I love it when a plan comes together. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  4. I am just in the process of writing up an interview that I've done with the OCC a new coffee roasters in Newcastle about how it all came about and Simon the roaster there started the company roasting beans during the week and selling them at market on the weekends using that very machine. He maintained that he would only roast 200g at a time and for no more than 20 minutes but the most crucial thing he found was he couldn't cool them quick enough in the machine so he would transfer them to a sieve and swish them around outside his bedroom window until they had properly cooled. Now i'm not sure
  5. Welcome to the forum. You will find a wealth of opinions and advice here and no sarcasm at all re your own personal coffee tastes. Enjoy!! Whitener? What's that? :-O Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  6. The pipe you are looking for is the one attached to the pump not the the over pressure valve which is made of brass and is attached to the boiler. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  7. Grinder... buy one! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  8. Yes it's still crap! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  9. It's not bird crap it's civet crap! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  10. Tapatalk was updated this week but you guys all seem to be using computers. I generally only access the forum through my phone and haven't experienced any issues. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  11. No oils present. It's a fairly light almost medium roast. I was speaking to Simon the roaster yesterday about it and he had tried it all the way to second crack and quite oily but it was missing so many of the flavours. This lighter roast also has a much higher caffeine content. Boom! Mate you have to try it. I'm interviewing the guys from OCC on Thursday as I think their story is really interesting and I feel sure the forum readers would love hearing about how they went from home roasting to a full blown business. 12. What Gary said! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  13. STICK! I have a Gaggia Coffee Deluxe which I've converted bar the boiler and 3 way. I changed the steam valve and fitted a Classic OPV which all works beautifully. I will at some point be fiteting a PID and changing the boiler but for now I'm happy and love my machine. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  14. It's a mystery as to why these pressurised baskets and crema device is still supplied with the Classic. The evidence over the years has been overwhelming as to how crap it is. It's surely not the machine you would buy to use pods. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  15. "I have stripped down the whole machine and cleaned it - there is no scale in the machine iners that I can see (even inside the body it's virtually calc free)" Yes but i'm not talking about scale i'm talking about scummy coffee oils and grinds. Descaler won't get rid of that. Btw do you grind your own beans or are you buying pre-ground? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
