  1. I would go larger and let gravity hold it in place, that way you can pop it off now and again to check the smell, it's a great help in learning where the roast is at.... Sent from my ZX81
  2. Where did you see that deal mate out of interest? Sent from my ZX81
  3. Just a little update.... Claudette has vey kindly sent me a copy of the "Roasting with the Gene Cafe cbr-101, hints & tips" manual. Yet another example of excellent Bella Barista customer service. Thanks all.
  4. Thank you kind sir, I've contacted BB so I shall see how that pans out.... If all else fails, I won't not speak with you ever again....
  5. Cheers Dave, I think I have read every last letter of the old wikidot site over the last couple of years.... I was keen to read your other notes as every time someone posts that they're struggling to get the best out of a certain bean or other, someone always mentions said notes..... I'll drop BB a line, thanks again mate.
  6. Could anyone point me in the direction of the mythical guide @DavecUK wrote for BB to accompany the little Gene? All Google finds is a pdf called genecafecbr101closerlookv3 is that it or am I missing something? My machine was purchased from BB originally but 2nd hand to me, complete with all manuals, packaging & receipt etc but no extra notes. Cheers in advance....
  7. Melrose & Morgan serve a consistent drink using allpress' espresso blend and almost dead opposite you have the Hummingbird Bakery serving caravan beans altho nowhere near as consistent. Both are on Gloucester Ave 2 bridges up-stream along the towpath from Camden Lock... Hope the meeting goes well.

  12. Thank's all.... Just soaked it in a bucket of cafiza and boiling water followed by an hour of scraping and hacking with a leatherman! Removed about 10mm of baked solid gunk from most of the interior of the chaff collector, particularly behind the gauze.... It's looking better but I think I'll still replace the whole lot at some point...
  13. Thanks Dave, I'll certainly give that a go, although boiling water alone didn't help much hence the screwdriver hacking!
  14. Cheers dude, followed that before.... Just really struggled to shift the gunk I have so figured a new one would be easier.... Just can't justify B-B charging £65 when I've seen one stateside for
