  • Casa Espresso First Public Cupping Event in collaboration with Laynes Espresso

On 24th November Casa Espresso is hosting their first public 'cupping' event alongside Laynes Espresso in the Sheaf St Cafeteria. Head roaster Jonnie and the team will be presenting their range of single origin coffee and espresso blends. The 90 minute masterclass will introduce you to subtle nuances and flavours in a coffee tasting session followed by an informal question and answer session to provide you with advice on different coffees and brewing methods.

Well, I'm going anyway. :-) Really looking forward to it, as I've not been to such a thing before so jumped at the chance when Matt told me it was happening.
      Anyone else here attending?

That was fun! I could do with one of those events every couple of weeks, just to get into the ways of coffee tasting. Kinda like wine tasting, but with a distinct coffee-ness about it; also, as Nino said, you can drive away!
A big thankyou to Nino, Johhny and Matt for their time and expertise.
Everyone had their favourite(s), with a couple of the beans most favourited. No-one seemed to go for the 'normal', test blend, even though it was, well, normal.
The ticket price included a bag of beans to take away, and I also bought a couple more bags for comparison of same day roasts. Today at work I will mostly be drinking Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Gutiti http://www.casaespresso.co.uk/produc...cheffe-gutiti/ , with the V60, Aeropress and cafetiere treatments. Blueberries abound! :-)
